Sa case natin, not really. Kailangan mag champion sa AFC Challenge Cup para magkaqualify tayo. Tier 3 nation kasi tayo, dahil dun bawal tayo sumali sa actual Asian Cup qualifiers. Pero na reformat ng AFC yung competitions nila. Isang outcome dun yung champions ng Challenge Cup pasok sa Asian Cup. Bali 'backdoor entry' yun.

Kung ako tatanongin mo, ayaw ko yung format na yan. Parang ang dugas. Tapos nadedeny tayo sumali sa continental qualifiers.

daming countries sa Asia pero sana mas maganda yun knockout rounds early on tapos may group stages. pwede naman yun ganun para lahat may fair chance at slot makapasok sa Asian cup.

Has the AFC already confirmed that the winners of the next two Challenge CUp tournaments will qualify for AUstralia 2015?

The AFC hasn't confirmed this yet but they also haven't said anything about the Challenge Cup winners not qualifying. This new format of the Challenge Cup winners qualifying for the Asian Cup has only happened for one cycle so far ('08 & '10 winners qualify for '11 Asian Cup), so I doubt they would change it right away and therefore we can pretty much expect that the '12 & '14 Challenge Cup winners will get a spot in the 2015 Asian Cup.

As always though we'll just have to wait for confirmation. And that confirmation will be when the AFC releases the rules & regulations for the 2012 Challenge Cup (main tournament).

AFC Asian Cup draw live on YouTube

Melbourne: The AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015™ preliminary draw and logo launch will be streamed live via YouTube on Tuesday.

The event, which will begin at 1800 hrs local time (GMT +11) at Melbourne’s Hotel Sofitel, can be watched through AFC Asian Cup’s YouTube page - www.youtube.com/theafcasiancup.

Twenty teams will be divided into five groups of four teams each. Top two teams from each group and the best third-placed team among all the groups will qualify for the tournament proper to be held in Australia in 2015.

AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ champions Japan, hosts and runners-up Australia, third-placed Korea Republic, AFC Challenge Cup 2012 winners DPR Korea and the champions of the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup will get direct berths in the final competition.

Teams from Uzbekistan, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, China, Bahrain, Syria, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand, Yemen, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Lebanon and Hong Kong will know their opponents on Tuesday.

That's because of logistics and the financial capabilities of a nation. Europe is basically the size of China and traveling there is very convenient and their countries can afford fully supporting their national teams financially.

Sadly, that is not the same case with Asia. The countries in Asia that don't have the luxury of sending an entire football team across the continent are usually the minnows whose governing bodies usually lack financial/moral support.

^ Kasi via AFC Challenge Cup tayo mag qualify. Lahat ng mga kasali sa AFC Challenge Cup hindi na makakasali sa AFC Asian cup qualifiers. so kailangan nating manalo sa challenge cup to qualify

and hindi pa yan yung actual asian cup teams.. sa pagkakaalam ko 16 teams lang ang maglalaro sa asian cup proper.

So it's the start of the qualifiers for this competition. The only surprise so far is 10 man HK holding Uzbekistan to a scoreless draw in Tashkent. Meanwhile all four of the AFF sides who have played so far have lost.
