yep, tama...

By all means, developed the R&D capabilities of the Philippines. That's how we add value to our products.

Pero naman gurls, can we do it without criticizing the sectors that are producing jobs and income to millions of Filipinos?

At the end of the day, we must walk our talk, so to speak. Else, your words don't mean a thing at all in the real world.

    In ver said this.

sad to say ateh... yes, I am involved in R&D activities and I have successfully published (internationally) 4 research outputs in 5 years, plus 6 in local publications. I have 2 patents already (local nga lang). So hindi ko na kailangang magpaganda...

Mababa ang tingin ko sa gobyerno na ang priorities e maghanap ng papasok na mga call center companies at mag-encourage ng OFWs... not necessarily the agents and the OFWs... I beleive these are good jobs... for out of school youth and high school grads. But not for degree holders as much as possible.

@Baklah_ako, good for you! Keep it up!
Ako naman, I've just started being involved in Research. I have already received confirmation that one of my studies will be published in an international journal. That will be my first. Hopefully, there will be more!

Looking forward to a great research year for all Filipino research enthusiasts! =)

Hindi kasi halata from your posts na you really understood the problems besetting our lovely country.

    Thanks!

Naku madugo ang proseso na ma-'publish'. When my first 'solo' research was published, jusko, pangalan ko lang ata ang hindi kinuwestyon ng community.

Kumbaga sa elementary paper works, puro 'pula' o 'namula' due to comments ng teachers. Ganong level.

Kaya when your research is published it feels like heaven. Sobra. I know how you feel, and I hope you'll enjoy doing further researches/studies in your field.

If you are into inventing things as well, try to apply for patent agad. Pampaganda ng portfolio. Pampaganda ng pangalan. Pampasikat sa international community of scholars. Sorry medyo bias ako, but that has been my measure of success, and I feel more fulfilled achieving those things rather than earning hundreds of thousands a month gaya ng mga batch mates ko nung undergrad.

It would be interesting to know the experiences of real local inventors and R&D people. My only linked with them was during my college days and early corporate life where I was assigned in the Quality Department of a multinational company. Of particular interest to me: how you select the subject of your Research and how you commercialize your invention/patents once granted.

    Happy now?

The post you cited old man was intended as a conversational piece with my supposed alternick irvinragalag ok? That said, you got no business whatsoever butting in, addressing me and/or responding to it because I never used the word "vicmesar" in that post. for man in his mid to late forties you're pretty rude?

You seem so interested. But I am not that dumb to tell my identity here in any way you want me to.
Yes it is registered Punta ka sa Patent office and check the those approved patents from May-September 2010.
