AmCham Foundation helps Pinoy scholars thru running

TAGUIG CITY, METRO MANILA – The recently held “Run for A Scholar” running event by the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc. underscores the organization’s direction in helping poor but deserving students.

At least 2,200 runners braved the early morning heat last May 27 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City to be part of the event, the first event of its kind held by the AmCham Foundation.

Member companies of AmCham Foundation ran along with hundreds of other running enthusiasts.

A major highlight of the event is the participation of several ABS-CBN Star Magic artists such as Diether Ocampo, Enchong Dee, Bettina Carlos, Megan Young and Erin Ocampo, among others.

TV actress, medical doctor, and sports enthusiast Maricar Reyes also graced the occasion.

MANILA, Philippines – Immediately following his stint as Father Alfred in television series "Dahil sa Pag-Ibig," dramatic actor Piolo Pascual is set to take on a "very physical" role in ABS-CBN's next big teleserye.

Pascual, who is down to his last four weeks portraying the conflicted priest, said he is readying to take on conflicts and challenges of more overt form in his newest project with the Kapamilya network.

The Ultimate Heartthrob, whose latest film "Every Breath U Take" saw his team-up with actress Angelica Panganiban, also revealed that he will be paired with the young actress anew in his next TV project.

"I'm supposed to do a soap with Angelica Panganiban. It's drama, maganda 'yung concept, kaya hindi ko rin natanggihan," Pascual said in an interview with ABS-CBN News Friday.

The hunk actor also took pride in the new show's "difficult concept," teasing it will feature a "water element."

"ABS has to come up with new, difficult concepts. It's big, we're going places. [It's] very phsyical, it's physically challenging -- may water element, that's all I can say," he said.

The "water" show, which will also star actor Diether Ocampo, will begin taping right after wrap-up of "Dahil sa Pag-Ibig," Pascual said.

On the last four weeks of his current primetime-starrer, Pascual said he is excited to see all the conflicts in the show meet their resolution.

"We're so excited dahil malapit na matapos. Ito na 'yung part ng soap na pinakamahirap because a lot of revelations, a lot of conflicts will be resolved," he said.

"Dahil sa Pag-Ibig" airs weeknights after "Walang Hanggan" during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.

In a few days, birthday na ni Doc. You naman how much I love Doc. Mga 3 yrs na rin akong fan. I want to buy her a gift, pero mayaman naman na siya and hindi kami close so baka di nya pa type ang mabili ko.

So instead i'm gonna give a Pxxxx (secret) pesos amount to Right Start to every year that Doc has been allowed by God to live. Kasi 3 yrs lang ako fan, but she has been a source of inspiration and entertainment (of course, kasi artista sya). What more dun sa kilala na sya for many years before and many years to come?

I already know Right Start's bank account number. Now I just need to figure out what her 'real' non-showbiz age is. I know i'm pretty good at Math, but since she was an expat's kid who went to International Schools and med school pa, tapos meron pang conflicting age reports in her previous run/tri competitions and the published showbiz age, gusto ko lang maging accurate. I accept Private Messages... hahahaha.
