If there's any truth to Cyrus wanting out of the team and the possibility of getting Sol in return, I think that's not so bad. Explosive player for another explosive player. What I like about Sol is his obvious desire and passion to win games, he's also very vocal about it, although Cyrus has this quiet intensity about him as well.

FYI, Sol is also very good friends with Devance, so he'd be right at home with Alaska. If anything, it'll be Norwood who's going to be lonely at ROS. Hehe.

I like Cyrus' game, but if there's truth to him wanting out, then let him have his way. What good is a disgruntled or unhappy player. Perhaps he does feel somewhat stifled in the Alaska scheme of things. But then when you think about it, Sol might feel the same way...

Again, I have my doubts on Cyrus wanting out especially upon the mentioning of a larger salary. If Cyrus cited this as one of the reason, then why did he sign a MAX contract that runs until 2013?

  5. #84
hes not the one who wants to up his salary its reynel hugnatan. so for alaska to have their limits in the salary cap they will trade baguio for he wants out of the alaska because he wanted to play for yeng

  6. #85
Why Will baguio wants out of the alaska and thinking of he wanted to play for yeng is a selfish act just because he wanted to play for coach yeng he wants out of the team ?? if there's a problem with the team or he is unhappy then there might be a good reason but he already get the playing time he is wishing for what else he is asking for??

  7. #86
yeng just wants to reunite with baguio. remember baguio 1st told the media that yeng was the one person why he was that successful now.. yeng brings out the best in him.. so its not a bad trade i think

Look, I'm not discounting your sources. I'm taking it for whatever I think its worth. Also, I think you should check what you're posting before you hit the submit button.

Just got info that a trade involving 3 teams has just been made

-via twitter from richard del rosario

So did anyone know who are the teams involved in the trade??

As per Mr. Mangonon's tweet, we might see a Sol-Macmac tandem at Meralco

If it's true, I can't imagine how such a tandem would work, what with both players having strong personalities...

So who is the guy that sol exchange with??

Ok I'm relieved there's no truth to the Cyrus thing. I really doubt there would be changes involving key players in Alaska. I really just expect them to get a solid back-up for LA. Although with an import coming in, one who can possibly play 1 or 2 would probably lessen the urgency this conference.

I'm glad I took inthegloryofball's post like a grain of salt.

I wonder if there's any truth to all the cyrus brouhaha talk. it doesn't seem like it's in his character to make those demands. if alaska really made a bid for mercado is quite interesting though. it was reported by reputable media ppl like fidel mangonon so there must be some semblance of truth. if tim cone and company really wanted the deal the done, they could've offered Eman, Hugnatan along w/ Baguio in a deal for Mercado and Reyes. That certainly trumps the Ronjay, Belga deal Ros got.

Cone and co. could've done for Reyes what they did for Jdv's game. as it is, reyes' game will remain status quo. quite unfortunate since he has tremendous natural gifts for a big man. Reyes and Jdv could've been interchangeable forwards. EE must now assert his game to gain that spot. And give him some playing time!

This trade is not final though pending com.salud's approval.

Who to pick in the dispersal draft as LA's backup: hubalde, hermida or marvin cruz?

Basden could be above the height limit..... he is just slightly shorter than Joe Devance (minus the afro)

pick hermida, he is the best choice among these 3, he is a very intelligent player, just needs a system that trusts him.. and knowing alaska, they like small point guards..

I don't think there's any semblance of truth to the "Cyrus wants out" rumor. Remember the "Cyrus wanted out of Ginebra" rumors that came out in the aftermath of the Baguio-Miller trade?
