is it true that, stretching before exercise makes you more prone to injuries?

  2. #42
^ If before lifting, your muscles lose their ability to stabilize and produce force if you stretch...
As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.

    Chi o2 for warm up

Here is a great equipment for warming up and cooling down. Its so easy to use and all you have to do is lie down for 10 minutes and it will loosen up your body and keep your blood flowing.

    30 minutes is excessive.

I jump rope for 2-3 minutes to get an overall warmup, do some simple mobility drills before each lifting movement (arm circles before shoulder work, legg swings and knee circles before squats, etc.).

talaga? ang sarap pa naman tumakbo. pero i do some stretchings naman before each lift.

Stretching is not necesarily a good warmup if magbubuhat ka.

Good Am po. Is walking a good warm-up for SS? I walk liesurely approx. 5-10 mins from my house to my gym. My plan is walking will be my cardio (though I loathe cardio nga kasi im so payat na). Then I'll do light static streching sa gym. Then proceed to warming-up with the empty olympic bar.

^ skip the static stretching and just do some light mobility drills

^ anything that makes you loosen up the hips and butt are a good choice. I assume before nag gym ka wala kang physical activity??

My daily routine is I go to the gym an hour after I wake up, so my warm up consists of 5-7minutes of walk(going to the gym) then yung excercise na pang elementary to loosen up the joints and muscles then static stretching. then special session for my shoulder with light weights to prevent my rotator cuff injury "further".

haha, yeah, exactly. Wala nga akong ginagawa, basta direcho lang sa gym, sauna for a couple of minutes para labasan ako ng pawis, then tread mill for 20mins then buhat na agad.

Okay na ba yun before i lift weights?

dude, just like any legit gym instructor, they will advice you to first see your ortho doctor or sports medicine doctor.

What suits to some people may not be suited for you.

My trainer advised running for 10 minutes then lifting and stretching at the end.
