The Rise and Demise of Hoop Nation: will you miss it?

I for one would miss it, it provides the proper avenue to discuss basketball other than the main dishes, NBA, PBA, UAAP, and NCAA

I would like to believe that this was supposed to be the home of our Philippine National Basketball Team (Smart Gilas) like how the Football Field has become the home of our Azkals, its sad to see support for one sport fall just because of the instant popularity of another

so much for the home of the:

International Game (FIBA Worlds, FIBA-Asia, Euro, Olympics, SEA, ASIAD, etc)

ABL (the up and coming ASEAN Basketball League)

PBL (or whatever the Amateur League is called nowadays)

WNBA

NCAA (US)

and just anything about basketball in general

now the move would only clutter the Sports Zone where I thought other sports other than the established hoops would be highlighted

its sad that what was once a promising sub-forum has turned into a wasteland (hopefully that won't happen with FF too)

I hope the last few weeks of Hoop Nation would see increased activity, let it go out with a bang

very unfair. they could've put the FF sub forum without pulling out the hoop nation sub forum. this is the only basketball thread we can talk about random stuffs basketball stuffs especially our national basketball team just like captain charisma mentioned. i'm very disappointed with the admins here because they let the weird football fans attacked the sub forum and then they give them a reason to held a feast by pulling this sub forum out in favor of putting a sub forum of their sport.

you admins are nothing but piece of $#!+ seriously...

ban me if you want to... i don't care... this is how i show my frustration. besides when basketball fans get mad you ban them but when football fans talk trash there's no zero tolerance on them.

i think the demise started when there is a mass exodus of hoop nation pexers preferring others instead of this subforum.

add to that the recent failures of the nts

even pba is suffering ratings...

i for one only watch college and nba for now

its was definitely coming...the ff subforum was just a nail in the coffin.

i had fun in the glory days of this subforum...learned lots of info outside the press.

Sana rename na lang nila na Philippine Basketball Forum yung PBA Forum.

Para makapagpost dun ng topic yung mga fans ng Smart Gilas, PBL, Liga Pilipinas, Centennial team, and yung mga dating fans ng MBA.

They should just rename Philippine Basketball Association to Hoop Nation. Why move all the threads here to Sports Zone? Of course there's little activity in the thread since the NT doesn't have any upcoming tournaments to play but there are still posts here regarding the NT's recent activity and some hoop news around the world.

It's good that the football section is up but c'mon admin. Where were you when some football trolls were hijacking this section? And now you're gonna abolished this section? Riding the bandwagon eh?

Good riddance! Haha...just kidding. I also love basketball (NBA and international) but I'm disillusioned with Philippine basketball. I think that one sport doesn't deserve a monopoly here in Pex. There's already 4 basketball sub-forums here, so I'm in favor of renaming the PBA sub-forum to Philippines basketball or something.

I've had some harsh and vitriolic words against Philippine basketball before but it's out of frustration because I feel that this one sport is sucking the lifeblood out of other deserving sports. You may not agree with me but this is just my opinion.

there seems to be little to no resistance, best case scenario would be to move the threads here in the PBA section and rename it to Philippine Hoops, dumping this section to Sports Zone will just clutter the scene there

seriously though... naging redundant na itong hoopnation. tama ang admin na buwagin itong hoopnation. kita mo nga naman nag stagnate lang ibang threads.... para itong creek na bumabara ng dumi. wag kayong magalit. ginagawa lang ng admin ang trabaho nila... at yan ay panatilihin ang kalinisan sa PEX. at ang hoop nation ay napakadumi. buti nga may mga trolls pa na nagbibigay buhay at kulay sa hoopnation. kung wala ako, paano na kayo? eh naka-ignore pa ako sa ibang basketball fans so paano nila mababasa mga post ko at replyan para mabuhay? wala! so buti nga sa inyo!

I agree in renaming the PBA subforum to "Philippines Basketball" but IMO the NBA forum should stand alone....It's too active to be merged w/ other subforums....

kaya nga e, admins sa PBA forum na lang ilipat ang Hoop Nation, tutal weather-weather lang naman ang topics dito, para may mapag-usapan din dun pag off-season
