Taylor Swift Opens Up About a Future in Acting and Admiration for Emma Stone
By: Brittany Joy Cooper | 5 days ago
n addition to her powerhouse country music career, Taylor Swift has been slowly dipping her toe into the waters of acting. Most recently, she starred as the voice of Audrey in the Dr. Seuss film ‘The Lorax,’ but the blonde starlet has had a significant taste of the big screen in her young career. In 2010, she portrayed a high school student in love in the flick ‘Valentine’s Day.’
Swift doesn’t deny the fact that she would love to get more involved in the realm of acting, and in fact talks about it a lot as of late, but she says she’s being intentional about where she dives in.
“I’ve been reading scripts for about five years — just kind of under the radar, asking my agents to please send me everything that might be good,” she tells Inquirer Entertainment. “When I look at acting careers that I really admire, I see that it’s been a precise decision-making process for these people. They make decisions based on what they love and they do only the things that they are passionate about. They play only characters that they can’t stop thinking about.”
Some of Swift’s acting muses are her best friend Emma Stone and ‘The Hunger Games’ star Jennifer Lawrence, also adding Daniel Day-Lewis and Will Smith to the list. Of Smith specifically, Swift says, “He’s made such brilliant decisions. He’s so charismatic.”
While many of her fans may not know this, Swift says she actually started out her career in acting, not music. “When I was growing up in Pennsylvania, auditioning for Broadway was my dream,” she dishes. “I went to several auditions in New York. I was always going there for vocal and acting lessons … and for auditions, where you stand in line in a long hallway with a lot of people. (I’ve always been freakishly tall, like a giant.) After a few years of auditioning in New York and not getting anything, I started writing songs. But I never lost my love for theater.”
While the ‘Ours’ singer can be somewhat glad the acting career didn’t pan out since it drove her to what has become an internationally celebrated singing career, Swift doesn’t have to give up her acting dreams for good. And with best friends like Stone, maybe she’ll pick up some tips along the way.
“We’ve been best friends since we were 17,” she says of ‘The Help’ star, explaining what they do when they get together. “I cook and Emma bakes. Those are our specialties. We just talk about our lives. That’s how I feel when I’m with friends that I’ve had for years. Those are the people that I can just rant to. These are the people who know me the best. It’s crazy with all of my friends having such busy schedules and me always being gone. When you do see your friends, you value the time with them.”

Emma Stone Dance Dare!
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone may star in 'Focus'
Michael Murphy
4/20/2012
Gosling and Stone have been tapped to reunite with 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' directors for upcoming feature.
The directorial team behind last year's surprise hit, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, are reuniting to direct their upcoming Focus, which will be based off a script they both wrote and possibly bring back Ryan Gosling (Drive) and Emma Stone (Easy A).
The new film surrounds a romance between an up-and-coming con artist and a veteran of the business. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan and the complications that arise from their previous encounter torture them when they reunite in the future.
Deadline reports that Gosling and Stone, who were both part of the Crazy, Stupid, Love ensemble, have yet to be approached for Focus since production of the film is still in its very early stages. However, Deadline does state that Ficarra and Requa have expressed the utmost desire to bring the stars back.
Gosling and Stone have a good amount of upcoming films that will debut during the next year. Gosling will be starring in two films by Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life) and two films by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. The Malick films are titled Lawless and Knight of Cups, while Refn's Only God Forgives recently wrapped production and the duo are working on a Logan's Run remake.
Stone will be seen in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man and is close to the top of the list of actresses looking to star opposite Johnny Depp in The Thin Man remake. They both will be co-starring in this fall's The Gangster Squad.
Astig review sa kanya sa Live Read ng The Apartment.
from http://www.hollywood.com/news/The_Ap...view/25668710:
Stone’s subdued crackle was infused into her take on the classic Shirley MacLaine heroine, elevator operator Fran Kubelik. Her adroit turn as Fran proves that while she’s still blooming, she’s solidly a member of the future classics club.

Generally pegged as a comedienne, Stone was quite simply stunning to behold. Her comic timing was in full effect but she also displayed a dramatic range last night that we’d never seen from her onscreen. She’s never had a role quite this good on film and when she gets one, watch out, because she killed this part. (If Reitman isn’t writing her a role that takes advantage of this right now, he’s dropping the ball.)

Eto from tumblr:
Yesterday was the first-ever NYC installment of Jason Reitman’s hugely popular LA live read series. In these reads, he basically takes a previously produced screenplay and brings it new life with a slew of big name movie and TV stars. The LA series included The Breakfast Club, The Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski, Shampoo and The Big Lebowski. It kicked off with my favorite movie ever, The Apartment.
Last night’s read included Paul Rudd as CC Baxter (originally Jack Lemmon), Emma Stone as Fran Kubelik (originally Shirley MacLaine), James Woods as J. D. Sheldrake (originally Fred MacMurray) as well as Jason Sudekis, David Wain, Tom Cavenaugh, Cara Buono and Greta Gerwig (who was a last minute replacement for Lena Dunham) In LA, the cast included Steve Carell as Baxter, Natalie Portman as Fran and Pierce Brosnan as Sheldrake.
I was in a complete trance the entire night. I laughed and I cried. It was nearly as perfect as the original film. Rudd was a fantastic Baxter-a worthy successor to legend Lemmon- Gerwig a scene-stealer playing the various floozies, but the real standout was Emma Stone. She was PERFECTION as Fran, embodying the pain and wry humor of the character. It was a very emotionally satisfying performance and she really impressed me. It also was great to hear the stage directions, which have a brilliant voice of their own.
The whole reading was a fantastic idea and I’m still on a high a day later. It was so good that I bought one of the awesome minimalist limited edition posters displayed above, which, coincidentally, I posted on here ages ago. I look forward to attend the next inevitable reading. Well, that’s about it, review-wise.
I absolutely adored it.

Andrew Garfield Gets Some Lip Service from Emma
A fan of Fresh skincare, Emma Stone recently brought beau Andrew Garfield into an N.Y.C. location to try the beauty line's Sugar Lip Treatment to help with his chapped lips.
"They were holding hands and were very affectionate," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "They were very nice to the sales team. Emma was enthusiastic, bubbly and excited to help with Andrew's dry lips."
Stone's pitch must have been convincing, because the pair purchased the treatment with SPF 15 before they walked out of the store.
