    Does it really matter??

I've been thinking and reading the threads here lately and the internet as a whole. I try to keep clear of threads which discuss the bible, because frankly, I'm not a good debater. In general, is it all worth it? I mean the arguments between theist and atheist, proving God's existence. What does it serve? You get to hear atheists daily lambasting the Bible, discrediting it, making fun of it, bashing it, and almost anything you can think of which truly amazes me sometimes. To the most educated and to the average Joe, everyone joins in the fun, I mean, those in the minute portion of the population who don't believe. They even made a book in which the subject is about - GOD DOESN'T EXIST. GOD DELUSION. Even a Scientist - "SOMETHING CAN COME OUT FROM NOTHING, then God is unnecessary." It's almost an allergic reaction. That nothing to them didn't even do anything. Why the profound reaction to nothing? Unbelievable sometimes.

Kind of reminds you of the memories in grade school where kids get to tease and make fun of you. What does it serve anyway? Is it some sort of a movement? A phobia of being labeled crazy? A profound hatred on something that isn't even there? Pity? Compassion? Saving someone from embarrassment? Testing your convincing power? Get to say first, "I told you so. I'm right, you are wrong." Preventing someone from going to a mental facility because they are delusional? If that is the case, almost all of the world population are mental patient. And when argument fails, the only resort is to insult, or to put it in another way, to punch him in the nose, merely out of frustration, getting all worked out on something which doesn't even exist to them. And yet, funny it may seem, believe in Aliens from another planet. This is coming from Hawkings himself and stating it's dangerous communicating with Aliens, "DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THEM, I REPEAT DO NOT." ET Phone home.

I'm just confused and wondering, why is it that way? Why is it common among atheist in the internet? I'm not against atheist. Not all of them are that way. Just trying to understand the psychology behind it.

I mean, at the end of the day, everything remains the same anyway. You turn on your TV, watch the news, have your dinner, wash up, and go to sleep. What's the purpose?

You're right. At the end of the day you would still believe what you like to believe.. Freedom baby! Lucky we have options so cherish that.

Hi TS. I noticed your new here. Welcome to the REalm of Thought .... well, mostly REalm of Religion. I'm new here too, about 5months pa lang.

Here, I had the honor of chatting with many of the learned Pinoys .. well some are sometimes pain in the ***.

You will learn a lot too. I hope we can all enjoy the chat here.

And by the way, not all the bible bashers here are atheist, in case that is what is all about your thread.

This is a good marketplace for ideas. Knowledge, beliefs, reasoning, methodology, techniques, experience, etc. A lot sell their ideas, others test their ideas, still others defend their ideas and there may be some that actually get new ideas.

What's good about this is the exchanges or barters of knowledge (just ignore the insults and name-callings) is all free.

What market lets you get ideas without diminishing the stock of the one you got it from.

It's like peer review of your treatise or thesis but in a very open way.

The downside is, of course, if you come in here with a confused understanding of your belief or with defective reasoning, some people will show no mercy and bashed you with impunity and you may end up more confused or less sure about your stand. The worst thing is that you might even feel bullied, shamed and psychologically scarred for life.

So if you're too sensitive I suggest you opt out and just do the daily routine of working or studying, watching TV, listening to music or playing games go to sleep, wake up and do everything all over again.

But if you're game enough, just get ready to ramble to give and take a few punches from the left, right, center and behind.

Also you can provide healing to the wounded by ministering encouraging word or advise.

it matters if you become an atheist or not. if you are an atheist, you will not find guilt in masturbation and premarital sex. you will take contraception and not have too many babies to name a few. those things alone will make your life a lot better.

i think atheists are common in the internet since on the whole non-religious people are more intelligent than religious people.

    #2 Einstein's relativity

Maybe all of us should be mental patients kasi each one, I am guessing, is at least a "thought adversary" of at least one person in this world. At least one person thinks you're stupid. And it's because of relativity. Or not. What?

    #3 The annoying color-blind person
It is irritating kung may taong sinasabing pink yung polo mo, pero green naman pala. At kung araw-arawin mo yun... Maybe atheists think that way. Naiirita lang talaga sila sa mga taong hindi nila kaparehas mag-isip and yet pinipilit yung gusto/paniniwala nila on the atheists. Which is, IMO perfectly natural na mainis ka kung ikaw rin pinilit na maniwala.

    Ano? Yeah.

Why is it worth pointing out that psychics and faithhealers are frauds? why do we have to be skeptical of mediums and astrologers, and other people who sell snake oil?

they are just alternative beliefs right? no harm?

Someday, Christianity and theism in general will be as benign as Buddhism. But for now, it still does us some HARM. It fvcks up women's rights (RH bill), it slows down progress of science education and medicine, it makes lives of homosexuals MISERABLE without a reason other than it's written on a really old book. It's a church that protects and coddles pedophiles and the only reason why these idiots are not in jail and dragged to courts is that they hide behind a veil of holiness and the BILLIONS of dollars of settlement money that believers provide.

Most importantly, And until recently, leaders of the church have said this: Aids is preferable to condom use. That is just insane and genocidal. millions die in africa every year and in most cases, the sole source of information they have are churches with absurd beliefs. HARM.

yeah, fighting irrational beliefs and superstitions don't matter.

I can't believe I have to explain this sh1t to people here.
