Little Pawns Interviews Kris Allen!

.Yesterday I had the opportunity to interview Kris as a part of Little Pawns and had a fantastic experience!! Kris was incredibly generous of his time, and I definitely appreciated seeing a glimpse into his life as he prepares to release Thank You Camellia.


By the time I arrived Kris was pretty hungry, having spent the morning doing interviews and signing The Vision of Love promotional material, so we went down to a local West Hollywood cafe for lunch with a colleague from 19 Entertainment. Kris hemmed and hawed a little bit about what to get, but settled on a spinach and goat cheese omelet--apparently the guy loves his goat cheese.

It was great to be able to just sit and chat for a while. I especially loved hearing him talk about seeing Bruce Springsteen in concert and the impact it had on him. We've uploaded the interview in full:

Thank You Camellia Snippet Poll RESULTS!!!

Thank you to ALL of you who took the time to vote in our poll!! We're excited to pass along the results. In case you don't feel like looking at graphs and pictures, here's the scoop in a few points:

This album is LITTERED with potential hit singles!!
Second Single: Winner is.... My Weakness!
Third Single: TIE between Monster & My Weakness, strong showings by Better With You, Rooftops, and Loves Me Not (see our graphs for interesting trends on which fans - casual or diehard - voted for each third single).
Favorite Song: Winner ended up being Monster! My Weakness came in a very strong 2nd.
Most Surprisingly Good Song: Winner was Blindfolded, with Rooftops right behind it.
Least Favorite Song: No track that's the weak link (a la Lifetime for most on KATA), but Teach Me How Love Goes was voted for most (although, see the breakdown of casual vs. diehard fans and their votes in this category).
NONE OF THIS MATTERS IF THE VISION OF LOVE ISN'T A HIT - A SECOND SINGLE LIKELY WON'T SEE THE AIRWAVES. We seriously can't stress this enough. The music on this album is WAY too good for people never to hear it. PLEASE take the time to request it at your local station (phone numbers are here for US stations and here for Canadian stations). We Krisberts can be lazy, but this album, Kris's hard work, and his music deserve our hard work too!

Second Single
44.4% of fans vote for My Weakness as the 2nd single, with Better With You and Monster coming in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Interestingly, CASUAL fans (who rated themselves 1-5 on the fan scale) were more likely to vote for Rooftops as 2nd single, whereas DIEHARD fans (who rated themselves 6-7 on the fan scale) were more slightly more likely to vote for Better With You and, to a lesser extent, Loves Me Not.



Third Single
This was a fight to the finish! We had exactly a tie between My Weakness and Monster, with 22.0% of the vote going to each. Better With You got nearly 18%, and Rooftops and Loves Me Not got over 13% each. VERY interestingly, while both groups voted equally for My Weakness, CASUAL fans were more likely to vote for Better With You, while DIEHARD fans were more likely to vote for Monster as third single.


IF you voted for My Weakness as SECOND single, most votes for THIRD single went to Monster with 31.1% of that vote, though again that was driven by diehard fans. DIEHARD fans were also more likely to vote for Loves Me Not as Third Single, if they'd voted for My Weakness as second single. CASUAL fans were likely to vote for Better With You.



Favorite Song
We REALLY loved seeing that EVERY song on the album got votes for Favorite Song (our sincere apologies for leaving The Vision of Love off of this poll - it was an unintentional oversight, borne out of the questions about Singles coming first!). Again, Monster and My Weakness were the big winners, with 28.3% and 23.5% of the vote, respectively. CASUAL fans voted more often for Monster, Rooftops, and You Got A Way, and DIEHARD fans voted more often for My Weakness, Better With You, and Out Alive.



Most Surprising Song
Again, every song got at least a vote on this question. Blindfolded got 22.6% of the vote, and Rooftops got 18.5%. CASUAL fans voted for Monster a lot, whereas DIEHARD fans voted for Teach Me How Love Goes a lot, perhaps because they were more likely to have had expectations from live versions of the song from The Mint, etc. Also, they voted for Loves Me Not more.



Least Favorite Song
Overall, 113 people answered this optional question. As with the previous questions every single song had at least one vote - so this album has something for everyone, it's just a matter of taste! Overall, Teach Me How Love Goes had the most votes, with 26.5% of the vote. CASUAL fans were more likely to vote for Monster and Blindfolded, DIEHARD fans were more likely to vote for Teach Me and, to a lesser extent, You Got A Way.

Kris Allen – “The Vision of Love Remixes” – First Listen!

The Vision of Love Remix EP will be available at Kris Allen Official on Tuesday, May 8. In the meantime, listen to one of the tracks, re-mixed by Michael Woods.

“The Vision of Love” is Kris’s debut single from his forthcoming album, Thank You Camellia due to hit stores May 22.

Kris Allen’s chart milestone – For those hoping that Kris’ “The Vision of Love” would start to take off on the Hot AC chart following his “Idol” performance, there is some good news — he is now in the top 40 with the single.

“Vision” is currently ranked at #40 on the chart, and is up 49 spins from the week before. This format is currently chock full of hits from past contestants, as Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, and Haley Reinhart also all have entries on the list. (Adam Lambert was on the chart with “Better Than I Know Myself” until very recently.)

if I were to make a list of potential singles, this is the list that I would likely to come up with:

and I like teach me how love goes! so maybe I am really in the minority.
