He said it wont take too long, he kept my passport and I129 and asked me to arrange for the delivery of my passport. I waited everyday and luckily yesterday, after a week, my passport arrived and it was approved. So for those who are caught in this "admistrative processing" stage, just be patient and it will soon arrive. Good Luck to everyone.

Karlanna, I believe it is not a requirement, I had a co-worker who went to the US a couple of months ago and she was not required to get this clearance.

    Thanks
but just to be sure- is your co-worker a holder of an L1 visa?

    Post Update

So last month I posted this thread with the question:

... how would you know the status of the application after you have submitted the additional docs? Does the US Embassy call or send a letter to inform you?

Two days after they received my docs, somebody from the embassy called me to verify my docs. I received another call later that day instructing me to send my passport to them.

The whole process, from the day I was interviewed, to the day I received my passport with visa, took 3 weeks.

I was not able to go back to the US as scheduled because after I received my visa, there were still other matters that I had to take care of (like getting the OEC). So I had to extend my vacation.

I wish I could have stayed for Christmas though.

Sa inyong lahat na nakatanggap ng 221(g), just hang in there. I think kapag "Further administrative processing" ang naka-check sa letter mo, it may take months to resolve. Pero kung nanghihingi sila ng additional docs (like in my case), once they are able to receive and review it, tatawagan ka na nila. So it is important na yung mga contact numbers na nilagay mo sa application mo ay accurate. Hindi sila nag-e-email ng status. Walang ibang paraan para malaman ang status ng application mo. You have to wait for their call. Good luck, and sana ma-approve na ang visa nyo

    Oec

Just a quick post regarding the OEC... By around 3PM, meron na akong OEC.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Magalang at maayos ang pakikipagusap ng mga nakaharap ko dun.

Ang advice ko sa mga kukuha ng OEC, search nyo muna sa POEA website kung meron regional office malapit sa inyo, at dun kayo kumuha ng OEC.

Hi guys share ko lang experience ng hubby ko I was petitioning him as my dependent (h4 visa) but he was under admin processing he was interviewed last march we gave them all the documents they requested by june. After that every month we send them a follow up email, and just two weeks ago they went to my parents house where my hubby lived they interviewed my parents, my sister and our neighbor they even inspect my hubby's room. We are hoping that they will grant my hubby a visa early next year so we can start the new year together. They didnt tell when we will know the result they said they will surely inform us once they made a decision, so right now all we do is pray, pray and pray...

hi BLUEVITAMIN I also received a 221g white form (i dont have any idea if there is any difference with the colors of the forms like the green and pink that was mentioned by the people here)...anyway...I was given that form after I had my interview with the consular officer and he told me to wait outside and somebody will call me regarding my expired NBI clearance...and I was called outside at the Y window where the 221g was given with the checked box of providing the latest NBI clearance but right then and there I gave him my latest NBI and so the checked box was crushed out...I was wondering if will it also take long for them to release my visa? its been 8 days now since I had my interview (including saturday and sunday). I have read that some received their visa after 7 days, but in my situation im worried since im pregnant and im going 6 months by february im hoping to receive my visa soon so that at least it is still safe for me and my baby to travel.

^hi, are there any updates regarding your visa application? i also got a 221g letter last January 6, sent the documents they requested immediately. No updates so far.

TIN REYES : Hi. So far after 2 weeks and 1 day today I called the embassy and the lady that I have talked to told me that my papers are still under administrative review/processing. I am really frustrated hearing that since on the day of the interview I have provided them my latest NBI clearance, and they never told me that I was under AR/AP. They never returned anything to me and the 221g form with the checked box of lacking document (NBI) was crushed out/erased since I have provided it to them. I was just told to wait. But I am really worried because all they said was to wait then they let me sign the shipping form. Then thats it. Waiting for any updates is so stressful specially when you dont know how long you have to wait.

By the way, what visa type do you have? When did have your interview? Don't worry we can back up each other, at least we almost have the same situation. Lets just keep each other updated.

I'm here for 3 weeks only, bakasyon lang. But I needed to get "visa stamping" too kasi I had "visa extension" while I was in the States.

The Consular Officer who interviewed me wanted me to provide additional docs. So she gave me the 221(g) letter.

I informed my employer about this already and the docs are already on their way here.

My question is this, how would you know the status of the application after you have submitted the additional docs? Does the US Embassy call or send a letter to inform you?

I'm very worried about this. I do not want to be stuck here, while I have work/client waiting for me in the US, bukod pa dyan ay yung mga gamit ko sa US and yung binabayaran kong apt dun.

I have read a lot of Internet discussions about 221(g) letters, but all of them are about experiences with US Embassies in India.

Please share your experiences with 221(g).

    Salamat!

hi, the consul who interviewed me took my passport and gave me a brochure ng rights ng H1B worker. so, i'm assuming, my visa was approved. but it's been 14 days now, wala pa din yung passport ko. i need to go back to the US next week (i'm here in pinas for a vacation, had to have visa stamping because I changed employers). i never got a letter from them like some of you guys, so i'm really alarmed kasi antagal na. i still need to go to POEA for my OEC. i'm panicking na! what do u think i should do to follow up on this matter?

    thank you!

Hi back2usa & bingengot18.. did you finally get your visa stamping? If yes, how long did it take the embassy to process yours? I am in a similar situation. I had an H1B visa restamping. The visa officer said that my docs are ok and that they just need to confirm something from the US. The confirmation should take only a day. After three weeks of waiting.. my passport arrived with no visa stamp but with the 221g green slip with the info that it needs further administrative processing and that they will contact me. They didn't give me any contact number or tracking number... and my company and client needs me back in the US next week.

Need help anyone, please! I had my interview last June 6, 2011 at US Embassy manila and the result after that interview I was given a 221g Green Form and "OTHERS" portion was mark tick stating " to provide a letter from a client letterhead detailing expected service, job site and travel expectation..etc..I am applying for H1B visa stamping...after the CO handed me that 221g green form together with my passport, then I ask her,AM I DENIED" she replied, Yes but if you can provide me that letterhead from your client then I will consider this."
I already contacted my employer and on the way sending me that docs needed, my question is for those who have experienced this type of scenario or for anyone who can advice, once I provided the docs as procedure to send it through 2GO or Air21, Is there a great chances of approval, do i have to go for an interview schedule again?how long will it take and do i need to contact their call center agent prior i submit?---need help pls...thanks!

I had the same situation. My interview was last June 2 and the CO said it will take about a week, well it's already past 2 weeks and my original return flight is today. No choice but to extend for another 2 weeks. Is the embassy just backlogged? I'm already on my 4th H-1B petition/extension approval and been in the US for almost 10yrs. Are we being punished for patiently and legally complying with the long wait of the US immigration process.

Anyone got their passports stamped already? Were you informed by phone or email? I don't know what to expect and wasn't able to ask the right questions due to my disappointment during the interview.

    Thanks.
