    ANG HIRAP MAGHANAP NG TRABAHO.

    ahaha, grabe pati auditing firm punuan na. kpmg malapit na, buti ang sgv, nageentertain pa rin sila ng applicants for exams pero piling-pili na lang yata ang mga makakapasok tsk. share kayo ng experiences niyo. pakiramdam ko, magpa-private company na lang ako.

    WTH. puno na yata sa pna at lipana, wala pa akong nababalitaan na may ineentertain silang applicants for interview or exams. mga preboard at actual board passers lang yata ang mga nakakapasok dyan eh, tsk!

  3. #3
    Why don't you try sa mga private companies? Maraming job opportunities for us CPA's na naghihintay sa atin.

    Actual board passers? If you plan to go to an auditing firm (at least for audit) I think it should be no surprise that they'll only accept CPAs.

    Why you need to be a member of the organization?

    @bgkings and to other non-members:

    Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) is the accredited professional organization (APO) of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in the Philippines accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). It was founded in November 1929. The holder of CPA Certificate No. 1 was its first president.

    PICPA has the following objectives:

    a. To promote and maintain high professional and ethical standards among accountants;
    b. To advance the science of accounting;
    c. To develop and improve accountancy education;
    d. To encourage cordial relations among accountants, and
    e. To protect the Certificate of Certified Public Accountant granted by the Republic of the Philippines.

    PICPA is a registered non-stock corporation with Geographical divisions, regions and chapters all over the country. Geographical Areas, Regions and Chapters do not have juridical personality separate and distinct from each other or from the national office. The PICPA organization consists of the National Office (supported by a national secretariat), the geographical area, regions, the chapters and the general membership.

    The PICPA recognizes the four (4) sectors by which a CPA may be in practice: namely, Public Practice, Commerce and Industry, Education / Academe and Government.

    International Scene

    Through PICPA, the country is actively represented in the world’s major accounting bodies. Foremost among these international organizations is the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the broad objective of which is the development and enhancement of a well coordinated worldwide accountancy profession functioning under harmonized standards.

    Continuing Professional Organization

    Seminars are regularly organized on varied technical subjects such as Auditing, Taxation, Management Services, Accountancy Education, International Accounting Standards and Philippine Standards on Auditing, EDP, etc. conducted by outstanding lecturers and speakers. Attendance to CPE provides opportunity to make valuable contacts with fellow members for a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and experiences, and to earn CPE credits.

    --excerpt from http://www.picpa.com.ph/About-PICPA/History.aspx

    Kung hindi ka member ng organization, how can then you be given a CPE unit, which is needed for accreditation and renewal of your license? Kung hindi ka member ng organization, then, where and in what profession do you belong? Kung hindi ka member ng organization then you are not a complete CPA.

    Professional people needs to be part of an organization. Yes its very costly. But the cost is worth the benefit. If you cannot afford as of now the registration fee, you can deffer it and later register if you already have a money. This is our organization, this is our profession, kapatid, kapamilya, kapuso, this is where you belong, PICPA.
