Maybe the board is satisfied with finishing 2nd/3rd/4th that's why Wenger has been at the helm for a long time. Of course it would be nice to win something but because it seems like Wenger is doing something productive (making unknown players/youngsters into household names) the board won't sack him.

Take a look at Liverpool for example, they've bought so many players over the past few years and it hasn't worked to their advantage as much. Liverpool are either hot or cold.

Arsenal are either hot or.... warm. Warm being the 2nd/3rd/4th place finishes in the league and hot being the football we play on the pitch.

That's what we get when we sign average players.

Good game and win against a very physical Birmingham side.

Loving the Cesc nasri wilshere song midfield.

    Next game is against shittty.

Not bad, not bad and a clean sheet at that. It seems we can now mix it up with the more physical sides. Only if we can find a solution to our set-piece foul ups. Another tough fixture up ahead.

he was loaned to nottingham forest after recovering from the horrific injury he suffered early last year.
vela might be out on loan as to give him opportunity for first team football.
good win for us on the weekend. now the mancs are coming to emirates this week. need to get this one to jump to second place.
and i don't think it will be as easy as the 3-0 win in eastlands early this season.

Another setback and no freakin coverage from ESPN Star Sports. We coud've won the game in the first half if not for the wasteful chances and the post. Again, plenty of promise but no end product. Let me copy-paste Barry Glendenning on the Guardian's live blog:

"That was a disgracefully negative and cowardly effort by the world's richest football club. If their die-hard supporters can honestly say they're genuinely happy with that rubbish, they really need to reassess why it is they started going to watch football in the first place."

There's still a long way to go and it's inevitable that we lose points along the way. This is one of those games. Given the current form of the team, we should be able to catch up with the league leaders soon. Many things can happen and I feel this year would be our year. Man Utd are unbeatable at the moment but they will drop points as well.

We've been saying this for years but we really need to finish our moves off!! We need an end product!! Haayyyyy

Now Man Utd are top, undefeated, aren't even playing the best football they're capable of and have no real big stars like previous years - but the thing is they get results.

    Our silky football needs results.

Just watched a replay, you battered them, it's just one of those days. Shame on them though, another cowardly performance from a supposed "Top 4" side, letting you lot keep possession and them parking the bus.

the losses will come... =) they still got to take on (chelseax2,city,spurs,and of course...US) come on guys. I know they played better the last time we met but it was an unlikely header. What is good is that we play more consistent now and defense seems to improve. Plus, Verminator is expected to return soon.

I must agree. We seem to be playing better now. Our game has picked up a notch and we seem to be capable of shifting to higher gears in the coming weeks and months. The team against City and Chelsea is our strongest 11 in many seasons past and there's TV5 still waiting in the sidelines. I'm hoping he recovers just in time for our title push in the coming months. Come on you Gunners!

We just run out of luck, we could have scored goals in the opening minutes. Lucky for City, they survived with their 1-9-1 formation.

How many times have we seen the Gunners dominate possession only to concede at the very last minute? It seems the team's spine has become stronger and there is less tendency for the defense to fall asleep.

Arsenal vs. Leeds United at 8:40 PM on Star Sports tomorrow. :-)

that's the frustrating part. we dominate possession but can't finish it off with goals. losses from chelsea and spurs are a heartbreaker more than those of the lesser teams. wenger has learned to start djourou rather than squillaci and it's paying off.

time for the reserves to shine! but lets not underestimate leeds.

squillaci in my opinion is the anti-thesis of vermaelen. while the latter proved to be one of the better signings in the last couple of years, the opposite could be said about the former. he has been nothing short of a disappointment.
and man utd definitely won't replicate The Invincibles feat.
