Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Mango Official Teaser
First Windows Phone Mango Devices Announced for AT&T
The wait for Windows Phone 7.5 (“Mango”) is coming to an end. AT&T today announced three new phones that will run the latest version of the Windows Phone OS when they are released this fall.
The Samsung Focus S is the sequel to AT&T’s Samsung Focus, the highest-selling Windows Phone so far in the United States. The Focus S will be powered by a 1.4-GHz processor, and feature a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. It will have a slim form factor, measuring just 0.33 inches at its thinnest point. The Focus S will run on AT&T’s 4G network, and feature an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, along with a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chat.
10 Windows Phone Mango Highlights
By Mike Perlman on September 12, 2011 (51 minutes ago) in Windows Phone
1.Threads - Text messages, Facebook chat, and Windows Messenger/IM will all be corralled into one thread.
2.Groups – Contacts can now be aggregated into Groups for increased organization.
3.App Connect – Applications are integrated into Bing search results. For instance, if you search Bing for a movie, the Fandango application will automatically launch, prompting you to buy tickets.
4.Improved Live Tiles – Live Tiles will now contain more real-time information and are promised to be more dynamic.
5.Multitasking – Mango users can now switch between applications by pressing and holding the Back button. A screen containing all open applications will appear and the user can scroll through them horizontally and tap to select the desired one.
6.People Hub – The People hub in Mango will integrate Facebook, Twitter, Outlook, LinkedIn and Windows Live Messenger in order to provide additional avenues of correspondence with contacts.
7.Multiple Email Accounts – This is basically a universal inbox that enables the user to link all of their emails accounts into one.
8.Internet Explorer 9 – Microsoft has added Internet Explorer 9 with HTML 5 to its browser, and promises a faster experience that rivals that of a desktop PC. Accelerated graphics have also been integrated within the browser.
9.Enhanced Bing Search – Bing now includes Music search, which provides song title, artist and album title by holding the phone up to a speaker that is playing the song. Visual Search allows users to use the camera and capture barcodes, QR codes and Microsoft Tags without the need for a third-party application.
10.Augmented Reality – Mango will bring computer-generated images and sounds to fortify real-life experiences. For instance, by pointing the phone at a location, certain applications will be able to provide an interactive guide like a tour through ancient ruins.
@Chris. really? wow wow wow!!! Buti nalang ang mga WP7 natin dito unbranded haha so we will be one of those Elite Firsts sa updates. Updated na ba Zune desktop mo? tsk tsk tonight mag baback up ako ng phone. Para ready na ako for the update. haha excited much.
nga pala chris, haha how does WP7 compare to android? :P i mean di ko alam kasi eh since WP7 user ako never tried android yet. i remember back then dami nag ssway sayo na mag android na lang. ako lang yata ang proponent ng wp7 haha. so far regretable ba ang windows phone experience?
Overall I never regret choosing wp7 buti nga out off stock *** HTC Mozart nung nag pa bile ako sa cousin ko sa Singapore at hd7 ang nabile .. Dami ko kasing nabasa at na panget daw ng screen but nung I personally have my hd7 na hindi siya ganoon ka linaw compare sa iPod touch ko na may retina display but super clear ang display and superb ang browsing experience.
I <3 WP7
"Boom… no more rumours. Mango to start rolling out on Windows Phone in just a week or two", tweeted Brandon Watson, who is in charge of apps and developers on Windows Phone at Microsoft.
Mango brings a huge number of improvements to the system, and significantly expands the number of locations and languages where Windows Phone is available worldwide.

AT&T Rolling Out WP Mango Update Starting Tuesday
September 24, 2011
AT&T will begin its Windows Phone (WP) Mango update program starting on Tuesday, September 27, a report from WPCentral reveals.
According to the report, the Mango update will be going first to the HTC Surround (SKU 65212), the LG Quantum (SKU 65205) and some Samsung Focus models (SKU 65203).
The report does say, however, that “Samsung Focus is still divided into two camps” with handsets installed with revision version 1.3 getting the Mango update first than rev 1.4 handsets.
Samsung Focus rev 1.3 handsets will begin getting Mango update on Tuesday while Samsung Focus rev 1.4 handsets will begin updating by the end of next month.
Furthermore, a fourth phone on the AT&T stable, the HTC HD7S is said to be getting the Mango update by mid-October.
Nonetheless, not everyone with the qualifying phones will at the same time be getting the Mango update.
The Seattle Times says that an AT&T spokesperson has said that “Customers with qualifying Windows Phones (HTC HD7S, HTC Surround, LG Quantum and Samsung Focus) will receive notices when the update is ready for download.”
The spokesperson told the publication that the Mango update will be released on a rolling schedule.
