I spent few years in Batangas but never learned how to drink the 'kapeng barako,' my mom loves it though. Have any of you Batanguenans still have the accent? I know I do, it was actually a sad experience 'cause I met this one girl from Manila (we're here in California), I was so happy thinking that I can have a Filipina friend, but the witch turned out to be so rude, and how she always made fun of my accent. I really didn't feel like conversing with her in English, because we're both Filipinos and I'm very proud of my heritage but oh well, needless to say, I hate her now.....

    lil_ryan, you're from taal, talaga?
so did you attend that school "mababang paaralan ng taal"
which is situated in a very, very steep slope? that school sign never fail to amuse us everytime we drove through taal.
The sign should read "napakataas na paaralan".

whoa, it's tough pala recalling how to speak Batangas tagalog.

    Cheers!

    see ya!
    lil_ryan,
i'm a genuine promdi- a true batangueno, from a remote barrio along the bay; grew up there but went to school somewhere in a dark city near manila and in texas. these days, both studying and working full time in the northeast.
chicago is nice... i fly there often to go "inom-an" with family and friends. batangas is nice too, but too far and not an hour&half flight anymore. i always wanted to visit the taal lake and climb the main volcano, but never had the chance. lots of beautiful lakes here also but the water is not as warm as the taal. miss the maliputo, kapeng barako, mangoes and lanzones, and speaking with the batangas "punto".
cheers mga kababayan! for those in the batangas right now, ala ey kumusta ga?

    kumusta na ang mga batangueño!!!

...'la lang, nadaan lang to keep this thread up!

'lil_ryan same here, i was not raised in batangas mismo, but i feel like i was... coz here in davao city we live in a community of batangueños, so most of the time mga batangueño pa rin ang nakakasama ko, with the ala eh punto and all... btw, ano bagang trabaho mo?

Joules ay pagka-layo mo naman pala! kailan ka pa diyan?

ako'y na-iiyamot na sa ISP'ng are! ay pagka-bagal bagal naman eh!
