I had an inter view tomorrow at Proalliance as Jr. Sys Ad.
Di ko alam kung ok dun.. XD
May Jr. Sys Ad ba sa Azeus? Kala ko Software Test Engineer at Software Developer lang? O_O

may nkita akong post last september pa.. haha..october na ako natawagan for exam, interview pati tech interview.. kala ko nga mkpgstart na din ako this Nov. ehh..pero ok ***, aral aral para prepared. hehe

kaya mo yan sir!.. tamang confidence ***..

Ako hindi ako nakapunta sa interview ko nung monday kasi may Bus Strike.. Sayang talaga..
Sana may mga openings pa sa jobsdb para sa Jr. Sys Ad or the likes.

^sabi ko nga dun sa earlier post, mahirap maging "sys ad" agad.
experience kasi ang tinitingnan nila then pipigain ka sa interviews kung ano talaga alam mo.

sa unix branch ako na-stuck, and yung iba companies naghahanap ng mga sun solaris certifications, ako nga wala ako nun eh.

pareng AeonClock, pasagot naman, sya kasi ang sys ad agad sa first job pa lang

2. Knowledge on RHEL 5 (commands)

I'm not saying na maging CCNA certified din *** ahh.. Pero isa din atang hinahanap sa qualification for the SysAd position eh may knowledge sa networking. Tingin ko yan *** mga "bala" ko nung ngapply ako for the SysAd position. hehe

***** isa ding factor *** tips sakin during the initial interview. Mag-aral daw ako sa Red Hat for the technical interview . Ayun, aral then after 2 weeks tinawagan ako for the technical interview.

Kala ko di na ako tatawagan for offer, di kasi ako confident during my performance on the tech interview. Lucky me!.. hehe..

Kung ano yung environment ng company iyon dapat yung focus mo. Sa Linux/Unix wala masyado ginagawa kasi stable naman siya pagkatapos mo ma-deploy, ewan ko lang sa Windows kung ganun din

I'm back!

I resigned from the work recently. It was my first job.
Recently, I applied as a Service Desk Engineer. I texted the HR few days ago for follow up and said that I am their choice. I'll wait until next week hopefully for JO. :-)

ma-swerte kayo kasi system ad ang work ninyo. ako i stopped in being a level 2 sys engr. UNIX tapos napunta ako sa banking company na panay GUI ang ginagawa. wala ng interaction sa command line. kaya nag hahanap na din ako kasi gusto ko talaga pursue yung pagiging admin ko. . .

Qualifications:

* Must have UNIX administration which includes Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, etc.
* Must have good Storage technology, like SAN, NAS and DAS.
* Must have hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup and tape technology.
* Must be familiar with administration tools, like Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System, sudo, ssh, etc.
* Must have Networking experience on TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, NIS, LDAP.
* Must have strong troubleshooting skills, both hardware and software Sun Solaris and Linux certifications required TEAMLEAD positions are also available.

All candidates must have the following additional qualifications:

* Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Strong multi-national, multi-cultural experience and orientation.
* Customer focused

pasali sa thread! hehe.

ako din aspiring maging sys ad someday. im working as an application support analyst now and being trained as an oracle dba dahil may unix skills ako. oracle installed sa solaris kc ang main servers ng project namin. super gusto ko mahasa sa shell scripting. iba kc ang dating nya sakin, exciting at unique! kakatapos ko *** i-automate *** health check ng system namin via shell script. sarap ng feeling! hehe.

Guys may mga alam ba kayong entry level for sys admin, i was a programmer before, but ginagamit talaga namin ang Unix/Linux/Windows, familiar naman ako sa mga commands, kahit awk at sed, scripting etc.. although I am not a root user, in short I am not a unix admin

Resign na ako matagal na pero ngayon i want to seek employment, gusto ko sana maging unix admin kaya lang wala akong makitang mga companies for entry level sana or parang sa mga nahahanap ko gusto nila iyong mga unix admin talaga before.

also, kung kailangan sa job mo, why not take oracle certifications.
ako nga e walang solaris certs pero meron oracle
pero hindi naman wasted, I'm handling a few dba tasks as well as the system...
gusto ko din nga kumuha na ng cisco para hindi ako takbo/tawag/sigaw parati sa network pag me connectivity problems

HP was mass hiring on unix admins a while ago, I got some invites too. try mo dun

The task of UNIX admins are Level 1 and 2 only, or basic administrations only.

Those Level 3 are their client
Level 3 is a pure UNIX administration, Level 1 and 2 is like operations support
