Hello Lawyers!

I was born and raised here i am now 18 years old. I just got my Japanese Passport last week and now I already have two names; one japanese, one filipino.

Now I am holding both japanese and philippine (already expired) passports. My mom is filipina and dad is japanese. Now I know the rules that Japan does not recognize dual citizenship (when you reach 20) while Philippines does. I plan to live in Japan after graduation and work there for 10 years or more then go back here in the Philippines.

Questions:

I am going to japan in May, will Immigration question me because I don't have a dual citizenship? Do I have to renew my Philippine Passport? If so, do I have to show both passports upon leaving/entering the two countries?

What name and citizenship shall i put on the application forms, like banks, employment application forms, school registration forms?

Hello Pexers..insights/advices please...

Nagstop kasi ako ng college 2006 but I decided to go back to school last year. pero nagstart from scratch ulit ako with a different course and "back to 0" ako sa nilipatan kong University (UniA). It was really new and I wasn't satisfied of their curriculum and student culture so I stopped after 1 sem and tried to apply elsewhere. IT inaaplyan ko pero mahirap din lumipat, na nadiscriminate pa ako sa age ng isang school.

Anyway, I applied sa UniB; told the admission staff na this would be my 3rd Uni and asked for the requirements I needed to submit. I submitted for the requirements and waited for a week for the decision ng Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA) and approved naman so kelangan ko nalang isubmit yung additional requirements. I filed lahat ng requirements sa admission and nagbayad ako ng admission fee tapos nun pinapunta ako ng Registrar pero hinarang nila application ko.

Wala raw kasing documents from my FIRST University and kelangan daw yun. sabi ko naman sabi ng admissions dapat nasa transfer credentials na un na ibibigay ng UniA. Pero ayaw tanggapin so pinabalik ako ng Admissions Office where sinabi nila na hindi ko raw di-neclare yung first University so the approval is not valid. To me this is not acceptable dahil clear naman sa conversation namin nung Admission staff na 3rd College ko na to. I indicated all the schools I attended dun sa form na binigay nila at tinanscribe sa computer bago ako papuntahin sa Cashier tapos sasabihin lang na hindi valid yung application ko.

Novemeber/December last year pa na approve ng Academic Affairs ang application ko pero since sa next term pa ako eenrol kaya ngayon *** ako bumalik to submit my other requirements only to find that they are revoking that decision because of a misunderstanding from their end.

Ngayon kelangan ko pang lakarin yung mga documents na kelangan ulit nila and ang hirap kausapin ng UniA dahil ibang iba mga records na bibinigay nila sakin.

There's a very big chance na hindi na ako umabot sa deadline and ma waste lang yung time na nainvest ko pursuing and waiting for UniB.

My questions are:
1. Can they just revoke the approval they issued due to the misunderstanding on their side? I don't think its fair since I did not misrepresent myself.
2. I invested a lot of time and umasa na ako na makakaenrol ako. Ngayon i have to deal with UniA to release yung mga requirements na hinihingi pa ni UniB and back to scratch ulit ako. Kelangan ulit daw ireview yung application based on the added documents. I really feel that I'm being deprived of my "rights to education." Can I take legal actions to (1) UniA - since they misrepresented me on my Student records. Sabi kasi ng UniB dapat sa TOR na inisyu ng UniB eh kasama dun yung details ng First college ko.

(2) UniB - same feeling I got when another college refused my application due to age--I felt violated. Hindi ko naman kasalanan if the records I submitted doesn't show my complete scholastic info. I disclosed it verbally and they had several opportunities in the past to correct and asked for any needed requirements that I'm willing to provide. yet they didn't and the Admissions team revoked the approval given by their Academic Office on the spot without giving proper notice buti sana kung binigyan nalang nila ako ng grace period to submit those requirements. Instead, they are giving me time to procure the documents (which may take who knows when) and start from the application process again. To think na I got past the evaluation and payment step tapos ganun lang kadali i-invalidate. how is the law protecting its citizens against that kind of treatment?

ang haba ng grievance ko..just need to let all the frustration/disappointment out. as a courtesy, I can't disclose the identities of the Universities. I will do as what UniB asked and go along with the process. hopefully, it works out but if it doesn't I'll formally seek legal counsel. When can people use the title "Atty."? are non-lawyers (not in IBP roster) allowed to use it? What happens should one use the title in business but does not have license to practice law?

I believe that popular law should be a subject in high school (now that we have the K-12 program). Yung mga basic na batas na kelangang malaman ng isang mamamayan. Yung Konstitusyon kasi masyadong general.
