either way.. because both can happen.

but assuming the stereotype - because this is the normal setup - MAN being the provider, can it be considered parasitism?

it absolutely is parasitism if a man can't provide for his family - I'm not talking about luxuries - I'm talking about the basics - food clothing healthcare housing education

I don't believe in "man as the sole provider" anymore. Many women earn more than men nowadays. Men (not all) become deadbeats and lived as if it's just them and not the family, relying on the girl to provide since she earns more.
I'd personally just break everything in half. Bills, mortgage, food, travel, etc. Para fair. I work my a$$ off while my husband lays back and waits for my money? hale no!

Idk, I guess I was just raised to be independent. My pride is too high to rely on my partner to give me money, buy stuff for me, or pay the bills, when I can do it myself. I can buy practically anything I want without a man to get it for me.

If my partner has a ton of debts before we got married, I'd have him settle it all first. or get a prenup to state that I am not liable to pay for whatever debts he owes before our marriage.
