The Araneta Coliseum as venue for UAAP (or V-League) volleyball: feasible or not?

do you guys think it's feasible for the UAAP or even the V-League (though they seem to have already struck a nice deal for the exclusive use of The Arena in San Juan with the San Juan City Government) to hold some of their games (in the case of the UAAP, big volleyball games such as opening matches and the replay of the previous season's Finals match) at the Araneta Coliseum?

UAAP finals siguro kaya na. I remember in women's volleyball championship between FEU and Adamson, talagang SRO at nag stop ticket selling sila nun. Buti na lang 2nd game ang men's championship kaya nakapasok na kami (between UST and FEU).

Pero during regular games, ayos na sa San Juan arena or some smaller venue.

Sa V-League, siguro kaya na rin.

^ maganda sigurong experiment if the UAAP will try holding the opening matches of the First Round of eliminations this season and the La Salle-UST finals rematch at the Araneta Coliseum while the rest of the games will be held at ULTRA or the Ninoy Aquino Stadium (hindi daw pumayag ang Arena sa gusto ng UAAP na gumamit ng Taraflex; ayaw daw kasi nila matakpan yung "ads" na nandoon sa flooring ng Arena). kung hindi mag-work talaga yung gamble sa paggamit ng Araneta Coliseum as a volleyball venue, then balik na lang muna sa paggamit ng ULTRA or Ninoy.

then, UST vs DLSU kayang-kaya yan.
four teams na may solid fan base/supporters.
pero with other teams playing, doubtful pa.

Araneta? masyadong malaki. and, yung seating medyo malayo mula sa court, mahirap manood.

yung ultra, mas okay pa na venue.

araneta is too big... for now

kung laging napupuno na yung isang venue, they just go to the next bigger venue until feasible na sa araneta (ganon din yung UAAP basketball dati. super naging big time lang siya nung nagsimula yung tv exposure)

kahit anong combination sa apat na yan, feu vs dlsu, ust vs admu at saka admu vs dlsu and ust vs feu

parang kayang-kaya bigyan ng magandang crowd ang araneta. silang apat lang naman kasi talaga ang may solid na fan base. sad to say.

personally, pag championship...dapat philsports...araneta is too humongous for uaap volleyball games...at tsaka mahirap manood from gen ad...

ninoy aquino stadium is viable for volleyball, kung hindi available ang filoil flying v arena...

Well since the opening of UAAP volleyball will feature the Final Four games last year, La Salle vs Adamson and Ateneo vs UST, it is but fitting to put it in Ultra.

I think since La Salle and UST didn't join the V-League, the fans of both teams will be itching to watch and support their girls.

magandang balita yan. pumayag na ba ang Arena na gumamit ng Taraflex ang UAAP for the volleyball competitions?

however, i still think we should hold the big volleyball games at a much bigger venue like ULTRA. UAAP volleyball games' popularity is slowly picking up, resulting to higher attendance. it would certainly be a gamble kung sa Araneta Coliseum gagawin yung games but if ever the gamble doesn't work well, then balik ULTRA or Arena or Ninoy na lang muna ang UAAP volleyball.

for me sana dun sa madaling puntahan specially for fans na from outside metro manila,like me,since hindi kami familiar sa mga streets dyan.

ang problema sa Ultra mahirap sa mga commuters...

wala ngang UAAP game sa Ultra ngayon ang napuno kahit may ADMU or DLSU na game doon.

Maybe for UAAP but not for VLeague.Eh arena nga lang hindi napupuno eh.So I dont think its possible.

well kung iparequire din yung ibang students to watch volleyball games and strong alumni support like UAAP basketball...

mukhang pwede na sa Araneta ang UAAP volleyball.

sa ngayon may alumni support na pero konti pa lang.

siguro pag ateneo at la salle maglalaban sa finals, na hindi naman impossible ngayong season, pwede na siguro i-araneta. sila yung kaya magdala ng alumni at napakaraming students eh. lol.

saka hindi na malulugi ang host school niyan kasi kung ateneo at la salle maglalaban, maglalabasan na muli ang sponsor at may bago na namang pagkakakitaan ang uaap at iba pa. lol. di ba nga sabi nila, halos kayang gastusin ng admu-dlsu games ang buong uaap? eh additional income na naman ito panigurado. lol.
