Hiring a wedding coordinator for Iloilo Wedding

    Hello everyone,

I am getting married 2 years from now but I am doing a obviously advanced planning because I am based in New York and I want to get married in the Philippines. My fiance is from Manila and I am from Iloilo City. It has been a big dilemma to where the wedding is gonna be, and I am a big fan of Manila events and venues only because I couldn't find (or at least I haven't tried so much) a good venue, catering, and wedding resources that is based in Iloilo. It will be all too crazy to fly everything to Iloilo, cake, flowers, and yes I have been to different weddings there and havent been really amazed so far of what Iloilo can offer. On the other hand I can do it in Manila but will not be so happy because I dont think everyone in my family based in Iloilo can make it to the date (it's a weekday!).

So to cut the story short, I am looking for a wedding coordinator or wedding resource person who can present to me the best options Iloilo City can offer. If you are a wedding planner or coordinator from Manila but who knows places in Iloilo, catering, cakes, I'm willing to fly you and pay for accommodations as well to go to Iloilo. If the options are good then my wedding will be in Iloilo I guess.

In case you are wondering these are my dilemmas for the Iloilo Wedding which I couldn't find any good resources

Venue----im not too keen on the hotels,I'd like to spend big on food but I dont think they can offer my money's worth

Cake- a nice 4 tier like the ones in cake boss

Flowers- to match my wedding motif (deep dark blue almost black and its complementary colors)

And everything else that I couldn;t find in Iloilo!

    Help anyone!

    Best!
    Gian and JP

    Iloilo Wedding Planners

    Hi Gian & JP!

I just want to let you know that there are competent planners in Iloilo City that can assist you. I admit there are several claiming that they are wedding planners/coordinators but only a few have business registrations and portfolios. I'm pretty sure they can do the same work as Manila based wedding planners.

In fact, we are in the process of organizing a "Wedding Planners & Coordinators" association which we hope to launch by the end of this year here in Iloilo. This will hopefully help couples like you who are based abroad. So don't lose hope... a beautiful wedding in Iloilo is possible...

--> yup! esca's is a good option. Miguel (the owner) recently invested in Tiffany chairs which would look great for garden weddings.
--> with the correct lighting and set-up (there are light/sound systems that you can hire for a reasonable amount), a beautiful garden wedding is possible

Cake- a nice 4 tier like the ones in cake boss

--> check out Divine Cakes as cake supplier. Liza, the owner, is very creative. She can make a new cake design (fondant) for you... In fact, she supplied the cake for a debut that I coordinated. The cake was black, pink and white. The cake turned out to be unique (since it had a black base) and sophisticated. Here's her website. - www.divinecakesbakeshop.com

Flowers- to match my wedding motif (deep dark blue almost black and its complementary color

--> Just to give you an idea, most of the flowers like roses, malaysian mum, stargazers etc. are sourced from Davao, Cebu, Gen. Santos, Baguio. Other varieties like tulips they can be imported from abroad. Flowers can be dyed and arranged depending on your motif or the theme of your wedding.

For photography, there are several groups who do great work. Check out Vaggo Nozze, Amular photography, Paloma Studios to name a few. They do excellent work.

For AVPs, pre-nup videos (MTV style) there's MAYAD Studios and Mindworkx. They do exceptional work.

If you already have a wedding theme/motif in mind, you can discuss this with the wedding planner. Have a handful of sample images and pictures of your desired reception/venue/church/flower arrangement and show it to the planner. This will help a lot in achieving your dream wedding.

Btw, it's good to discuss you "wedding budget" with the planner ahead of time so that they will be able to work around it and let you know if you need to pay for special requests. Always ask for options and price comparisons so that you can get the best deal without sacrificing quality.

    Good luck!
