MUNICH — Goalkeeper Iker Casillas stopped two penalty kicks, leading Real Madrid past Bayern Munich 4-2 in a shootout to win the Franz Beckenbauer Cup.

Hamit Altintop and Edson Braafheid missed their shots after Friday's game ended in a 0-0 draw in regulation.

The exhibition was an official farewell game for Beckenbauer, the German soccer great who never received a proper sendoff when he left Bayern for the Cosmos 33 years ago.

Benzema must start racking up goals this season. CR7 and Pipita cannot do it alone. With the addition of Pedro Leon and Di Maria, we now have 3 wingers compared to just 1 last season. Canales can certainly fill up Kaka's position while he's injured. Hopefully either Lass or Khedira can link up well with Xabi in midfield. And it's always a good thing adding a veteran CB like Carvalho.

Although I like how Ozil plays, masyado ng overcrowded ang midfield. 4 na tuloy ang magaagawan sa Attacking midfielder slot (Kaka, Canales, VDV, Ozil). Next yr na lang sana nila kinuha to. I'm sure merong ibebenta ang Madrid before the transfer window ends. Huwag lang sana si VDV.

No we don't need to sell VDV! He's one of those players with a never say die attitude. I mean look at him last season. At the pre season he wasn't given a number and looks to be heading out of the Bernabeu. Yet he managed to fight for a place and played well when Kaka was injured. If we're going to sell someone, sell G@go instead. He's the least experienced from all our CDMs.
