Mark Herras, Geoff Eigenmann, Jackie Rice, and Jennica Garcia were among those who graced the trade launch of GMA Ilocos held at the Vigan Connvention Center.

GMA Ilocos is expected to service an estimated total of 208,110 households. It will broadcast local newscast Balitang Ilokano in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and parts of Abra and La Union.


Geoff Eigenmann is currently seen in the GMA-7 teleserye Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka? wherein he acts opposite his father, Michael de Mesa.

Kapuso Day at Laoag City

To mark the opening of a regional station in Ilocos, GMA-7 stars trooped to Laoag City for a fun-filled Kapuso day.

Around 12,000 people attended the festive events held at the Ilocos Norte Capitol Stage in Laoag City last June 9.


When asked if he felt awkward while acting opposite his father, Michael de Mesa, Geoff Eigenmann recalled: "Hindi naman awkward but I was nervous, very, very nervous. Sabi nga ni Direk Mark [Reyes], during the whole day, I was so cocky and arrogant with my character pero noong first scene ko with my dad, I started to stutter at nabulol ako. I was like a little kid, not knowing what to do."
The two are regularly seen on Kasalanan Bang Iibigin Ka.

Hindi na nenenerbiyos ng husto si Geoff Eigenmann ‘pag may eksena sa Kasalanan Ba Ang Ibigin Ka na magkasama sila ng amang si Michael de Mesa. Hindi na naulit ang binuking ni direk Mark Reyes na napasuntok si Geoff sa pader sa sobrang nerbiyos, the first time na magka-eksena sila ng ama.

Five weeks nang umeere ang Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka? What’s the best thing of working with his dad?

“Seeing his different side and our time spent together. Ngayon lang uli kami nagkasama ng matagal and we’ve got to talk things na never naming pinag-uusapan dati. He gives me ideas sa career, sa life and everything, marami akong natututunan. Masaya!,” wika ni Geoff.

Masaya si Geoff sa schedule ng taping niya sa soap dahil pareho sila ng schedule ng nobyang si Carla Abellana kaya may time sila together at hindi naaapektuhan ang kani-kanilang trabaho.

ON THE SET: "Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka"

Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka heats up this first week of July as Jake (Geoff Eigenmann) starts making a move on Bianca (Jennica Garcia).

Meanwhile, Erica (Jackie Rice) continues to grapple with her role as wife to Jaime (Michael de Mesa), who tries different ways to woo his young wife.


Geoff Eigenmann joins the press people after shooting a confrontation scene, with matching bandage on his forehead.


Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka is the first foray of father and son into acting together.
In real life, they are as close as bacon and eggs.
In the soap, their characters fall in love with the same girl.


Michael de Mesa, who is also a director, would love to direct his son someday.
And what kind of film is he looking at?
Michael answered, "Dapat character-driven, opinions and point of view of men."

Direk Mark Reyes says that Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka is "not what it seems.
"Light characters, dark characters, 'di nila alam, it's all grey. Magugulat na lang tayo sa twist nung kay Jake [Geoff Eigenmann]."
It was this twist that was being filmed that day on set.

Wish granted. Lovebirds Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana have a scheduling problem.

One of the very few showbiz couples who are honest about their relationship, Geoff has his GMA afternoon project, “Kasalanan Ba’ng Ibigin Ka?,” while Carla has “Makapiling Kang Muli” on GMA primetime. Quality time is a problem. It just so happens that Carla has a T-Th-S schedule and Geoff has M-W-F and the only common day they’re both off, Sunday, is family day.

Love and power prevailed though as we heard that Geoff finally got his request to change the taping schedule of “Kasalanan” to match Carla’s schedule of T-Th-S and so they now have M-W-F for their bonding days.

Next time will be easier for the two as we were told they’d be paired again in their next project.

Michael doesn’t have the heart to punch Geoff even onscreen

Manila, Philippines – MAY eksena sa “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?” kung saan, susuntukin ni Michael de Mesa bilang si Jaime ang anak na si Geoff Eigenmann bilang si Jake. Hindi magawa ni Michael na saktan ang anak at napangiti si Geoff sa narinig sa ama na “ang mukhang ‘yan, masasaktan ko ba?”

“Nakiusap ako kay direk Mark (Reyes) na ‘wag ko na lang suntukin si Geoff. Umiral ang pagka-ama ko. I just felt akward, pero hindi ako nag-demand. Tinulak ko na lang siya at aambahan na lang. Ang hirap eh,” wika ni Michael.

Lumabas pa ring maganda ang eksena kaya natuwa si Michael at thankful ito sa magandang feedback ng viewers sa “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?” at meron pang nagtu-tweet ng dialogue niya.

“Actually, nakakapagod after the taping. I’m mentally and physically exhausted. Nakakapagod dahil demanding ang character ko kahit hindi dramatic ang scene. Iba ang role ko at marami pa kaming scene ni Geoff. Pag-uwi ko, bagsak ako. Nag-usap nga kami ng anak ko na trabaho lang ito… but I’m having fun,” ayon pa kay Michael.

Gumagawa rin ng pelikula si Michael, kasama siya sa cast ng “Sa 'Yo ang Pritil sa Akin ang Bangkusay,” pelikula nina Jose Manalo at Wally Bayola ng APT Entertainment. Magkasama uli sila ni Tirso Cruz III at parehong kontrabida ang role nila kaya siguradong mag-i-enjoy silang dalawa.

Samantala, 80 percent ang ibinigay na posibilidad ni Michael na bumalik sila ng ‘Pinas ng asawang si Julie Reyes. Okay sa misis niya ang plano niya at sobrang blessed daw siya na mahal na mahal siya nito at ganu’n din siya rito.

“Sa akin ang final decision at sinusuportahan niya ako. We’re just working on our citizenship at ‘pag naayos ‘yun, we can stay here na. Tumitingin na nga ako ng bahay at dasal ko, i-extend ng GMA-7 ang two-year contract ko para makabili kami ng house rito,” dagdag pa ni Michael.

Wala pa ring car si Michael, binigyan siya ng service ng GMA-7 na sumusundo at naghahatid sa kanya sa location ng taping ng “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?”. Isa pa rin ito sa kanyang pinag-ipunan.

Bakit nga ba maggaling na actors ang mga Eigenmann?

“Hindi ko alam,” ang sagot ni Michael pero para kay Geoff ang sagot ay dahil marami silang angst at rich ang life experiences nilang magpapamilya.

Sa tanong kung posibleng gumawa ng pelikula ang mga Eigenmann, “oo” ang sagot nina Michael at Geoff.

“Big factor if it has a good story at character driven at opinion and point of view of a man” ang sagot ni Michael, at sinundan ni Geoff ng “testosterone film dapat.”

Still "Sweet" at 40!

Ang Top 20 ay gagabayan ng kani-kanyang mentors na sila Direk Gina Alajar, Direk Ricky Davao, Roderick Paulate, Jolina Magdangal at Phillip Salvador.

May tip si Geoff Eigenmann kung paano mai-impress ang protégé ng inang si Direk Gina. ’Wag daw pepersonalin ang sasabihin nito at isiping para rin sa kanila ang mga payo at maging propesyonal.

“Kahit mataas ang standard ng mom ko, she is also appreciative of people who exert enough effort to learn and improve his/her craft. Just be true to yourself, to your emotions and to the character you are portraying,” payo ni Geoff.
