and JR Reyes still a disappointment! mas magaling pa rin si Espinas at least may option sila sa post..
^^
whoever thought of that trade made a big mistake.
I thought Jayr Reyes final destination is Talk n Text sila ang may kailangan kay Jay r..
Mac Cardona has declined inclusion in any PBA selection, even during GILAS 1.0 ...... he actually admits that he wont be a good fit, since he's best served with isolation ball rather than team-based offenses.
As for the last game ..... that was a statement (non) game from Cardona. It seems like he has a beef with someone from his own team.
The last time I saw a stunt like that, was when Kobe Bryant hardly took a shot during a Lakers game - after he had a discussion with coach Phil Jackson about taking too many shots ..... Kobe hardly attempted just to prove his point.
Barako Bull looking at West, Hickerson to replace Peterson
Count NBA veteran Mario West as one of the players on the radar of Barako Bull coach Junel Baculi.
“We’re looking at him right now,” Baculi told InterAKTV in a telephone interview. “He’s one of our options along with LeRoy Hickerson.”
West went undrafted in the NBA, but was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Hawks during the 2007-08 season. He had three seasons with the Hawks, but the 6-foot-5, former collegiate slam dunk champion out of Georgia Tech, had his finest season in the NBA as a member of the New Jersey Nets in the 2010-2011 season, averaging 3.7 points and 1.2 steals per game in 19.3 minutes.
The rights to former Air 21 Express import Hickerson belong to the Energy, though he might not be available right away.
“He’s currently trying out in Europe,” Baculi explained. “So we have to wait. In searching for an import, we want to make sure that he will make the 6-foot-5 height limit. Alam naman natin ang nangyari sa Meralco. We don’t want that to happen to us at this stage.”
Good thing the Energy won’t have a game until June 8 and Baculi and his coaching staff will have the time to search for an import who could be a better fit for the team than Jamine Peterson.
Peterson finished with only four points in Barako Bull’s 95-90 loss to the B-MEG Llamados.
“It seems magkaiba kami ng philosophy ng import namin,” Baculi said. “I want him to play defense, but he’s more concentrated on scoring. He has been scouted by opponents very well and we want him top contribute on defense. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.”
NBA veteran West to take over Oguchi’s spot at Meralco
Mario West, a former member of the Atlanta Hawks and the New Jersey Nets, will replace Meralco import Champ Oguchi.
Sheryl Reyes, the agent who represents West in the Philippines, confirmed the news to InterAKTV.
“He’s set to arrive tonight. At least three PBA teams were targeting Mario, but we decided to choose Meralco,” wrote Reyes in a text message. “Meralco wanted to keep Oguchi, but it all boiled down to winning.”
Bolts coach Ryan Gregorio said in an early interview that he will use Wednesday’s game against B-MEG to evaluate Oguchi. But after coming up with only 12 points and missing all his 10 attempts from the three-point region, it became clear that the former Nigerian national team member was on his way out.
West went undrafted in the NBA, but was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Hawks during the 2007-08 season. He spent three seasons with the Hawks, before joining the New Jersey Nets in 2010-11.
The NBA veteran will be the fourth import of the Bolts, who had problems with their first two recruits – Devin Green and Juan Patillo – both of whom exceeded the 6-foot-5 height limit prior to the start of the tournament.
Mukhang balik ang problema regarding imports ni RG...ganyan na din dati!!!
I hope this import Mario West will best suit the brand of play of Meralco. We need an aggresive import who can penetrate inside the basket as well as rebound, na hindi mo nakita kay Oguchi, bcus siguro sa built ng katawan na parang patpat ng kawayan.
Dapat par-aralan din ni Coach Ryan kung saan comfortable maglaro si West at wag nya ipilit yung hindi akma sa kanya at gumawa sya ng PLAY sa high jumping import na si West.
plays and ryan gregorio ...parang di bagay
Delikado na naman Meralco sa Import nilang si West, WALA RAW SHOOTING. Dapat compensate niya sa penetration/drive/ at demon rebounding.![]()
