Hate? Marunong ka ba ng reading comprehension

Reading is a fundamental skill. Its from left to right top to bottom. Or perhaps you just need to learn something as basic as comprehension. You obviously can not extract a gist from a statement. And if you have a problem reading opinions like this, eh di huwag mo i-click ang thread na ito para di ka nabwibwisit.

Alam mo ba ibig sabihin nun?

And before you make assumptions about what I do for a living here, make sure your own resume will actually hold a candle. At Mamaya pa nyan mas mababa pa pala standard of living mo kesa sa isang entertainer dito.

It was an add for kirin products, and if you listen naman to the add it does not necessarily mean naman na Japan is number one. It actually connotes something more like "the number one beer in Japan", or something to that effect.

I think you are missing my point. At no time ko naman sinabi that Pacquiaos achievement is not something worth being proud of. His country should support and be proud of him as well as any other athlete out there regardless if they accomplish something as big as he did or not. THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE HERE.

The Issue here is that we should not take the achievement of one individual and celebrate it that as if it is actually reflective of a whole populace or nation. Sige ill follow the annalogy you gave. Ikaw halimbawa Honor student ka. Pero pano kung yung tatay mo lasengo? Yung nanay mo bungangera at walang pinag-aralan. Yung kuya mo adik, yung ate mo sawsawan ng bayan? Is that enough to actually redeem an entire family? Of course they have the right to be proud of you. But that does not mean your achievement reflects theirs.

Its not just on the internet that this is blown out of proportion. Actually Lito Atienza was one of the first use Pacquiao in the same sentence with Jose Rizal. I mean sure kahangan kahanga si Pacquiao at dapat nating ipagmalaki, pero come on. He is a sports hero not a Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, or a Ramon Magsaysay.

Pride is also something you put in its proper context

Hay naku, I am trying my very best not to call you an Idiot. Everyone has the right to be every now and then. But you are obviously abusing it. Sige Ill try extra harder.

O sige since this is an UNPOPULAR opinions thread here it is.

And oh! trust me when I say this hater has done more service to the Philippines more than you have ever did and will ever do. I am sure PnD and Sniper though would be rejoicing

lets leave this at that, theres no point discussing this further as we both agree that this is only for the movies` promotional purposes done differently

japan`s no.1 beer with whom they consider the world`s best baseballer i would assume, if not why would they not try to have their beer endorsed by a mediocre player from the J-league? as i`ve said earlie that they may not say it directly but the idea is there. with ichiros`s accomplisments shoved in my face on everyday news on tv with that consecutive hits on consecutive games without even mentioning if his team won that particular game or not, dont you find it strange? strange as you also find pinoys adored pacquiao`s success enough reason to label him a hero?
if i would make the effort of reading japanese forum sites, i would not be surprised if fantards there would suggest to make ichiro their prime minister or emperor, thats what fantards do, but not necessarily reflect the view of a common pinoy.

Yes you are jack@ss. Just because something is derogatory it does not mean it is unpopular. Its more of a personal assault rather than an opinion. For something to be labeled as unpopular it should be something that is GENERALLY disliked by a group and not just one person tsk tsk tsk.

Thats more like it than being a loser behind a keyboard venting out his frustration over someone who is being highly paid to live in another country..... No that wasnt a methapor either. It would just suck to be you

I dont know about him being labeled as the greatest baseball player there is today. But I do not see any japanese naman saying that all japanese are great just because he is in the same way pinoys do with manny pacquiao. If he is all over advertistments, this is simply because of his star power that could attract consumers. I dont see any propaganda behind him.

As for Pacquiao being a hero, yes sure he is a hero. But it should be taken in its proper context. Pacquiao is a sports hero and deserves recognition as such.

Really? Because I do read some pero wala naman ako dun nakikita na gusto nga nilang gawing national hero si Ichiro

Well that is your opinion. Just as mine is. I offered an unpopular opinion and obviously I gave a very good one. Did not expect all to agree with me. But see, we can go on and on.... simple lang naman ang punto na gusto ko iparating. The achievement of one pinoy is not enough to reflect the achievement of an entire filipino Populace as a whole. Maraming world class na pinoy, pero as filipinos in general it is my unpopular opinion that they are not simply judging by the fact na 3rd world country pa din tayo.

Funny thing is that, I never in any of my posts said that we should not be proud of being pinoys, or be proud of our fellow pinoys, or be proud in general. I was simply pointing out that pride should be taken in its proper context.

I dont know about you, pero in his post-fight interviews and those na mga nanonood ng motorcade nya na napapanood ko sa news, wala na akong ibang narinig kundi kung gaano kabayani si Manny, and that angat daw ang buong pinoy dahil sa kanya. Isipin mo na lang, these politicians will not cook up something like this if people would never buy it.
