Planning a 4 day trip to Vientiane.. Day 1 is flight in. Day 4 flight out. I guess there's no time for Luang Prabang. Total stay in Vientiane is 2.5 days. Is it still worth going to Laos if Vientiane lang mapuntahan? Food? Shopping?

ay October pala ako Cambodia and Laos for 8 days. I guess that's enough to cover Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Luang Prabang and Vientiane

I think it's around 9 days

Here's my itinerary :

Day 1 - Manila to Siem Reap, arrive 9:30pm in SR
Day 2 - Whole day Siem Reap
Day 3 - Siem Reap
Day 4 - Siem Reap
Day 5 - Siem Reap to Phnom Penh via Cambodia Angkor Air, arrive in PP 9am, tour PP the rest of the day
Day 6 - Half day Phnom Penh, fly to Vientiane via Lao Airlines (arrive in Vientiane 7pm
Day 7 - Whole day in Vientiane
Day 8 - fly Vientiane to Luang Prabang via Lao Airlines, arrive in LP 10am, tour LP whole day
Day 9 - whole day Luang Prabang
Day 10 - fly Luang Prabang to Siem Reap via Lao Airlines, arrive in SR 2pm
Then fly SR to Manila via Cebupac 10:30pm arrive in Manila 2am the next day

^^^ excellent iterinary. The LPQ-REP is a direct Lao Air flight?? Or is it codeshared with Vietnam Airlines? That's the only airline flying direct on that route. I remember , Lao flies via VTE only.anyway, I agree on that iterinary though Phnom Penh can be skipped. But if it's bOoked already, it's fine. Have fun. I love Luang at Prabang among the 4 cities. Laid back and very French and very orange full of orange clad monks. It's Paris of Asia without Eiffel tower. Laid back Paris nga Lang

hi wanderer. i think direct LP to Siem Reap yun via Lao Airlines kasi andun sa website nila mismo *** availability. It only costs around $150 one way for that one. I did checkout Vietnam Airlines and that route costs $450! So i don't think codeshared sila hehe. tingin mo?

and also, we really wanna go to Phnom Penh for the Killing Fields kasi eh. I'm just a little bit hesitant kasi raw very disturbing yung lugar hehe. di pa naman kami nakapagbook kasi October pa yung plan namin

You will check in at Vietnam Airlines counter being the operating carrier.Lao Airlines is just a marketing carrier. For future reference, usually or almost all the times, operating carrier has 3 digits on its flight number, while marketing carrier has 4digits .
So a flight that shows, SQ234 (Singapore AIrlines) from MNL-SIN, is also sold as LH5436 ( Lufthansa). You might gone crazy at Manila airport since your ticket is Lufthansa and ginalugad mo na lahat na check in counter at wala talagang LUfthansa . Ask mo pa secuirty, "saan po check in ngLufthansa, sabihin sayo, " wala po yandito Sir YOu check in at SQ (notice the 3 digit) and they can pull ur Lufthansa ticket, and u will fly on SQ metal.

If you ask me, that iterinary is alright, but you may want to skip bus na lang and plane na lang lahat para, mas comfortable ang trip. Pero, if nakabookna, thats alright. YOu will have many things to do in LPQ than VTE.

1 araw lang kaya na puntahan ang mga must-sees, which aren't that much.

Vientiane for shopping? like Bangkok kind of shopping? no. wala masyado dun, except perhaps for traditional Lao souvenirs.

it's a totally different country, left behind by modernity, which is Laos' charm, especially Luang Prabang. a quaint ancient city, rich in culture. the whole of LP is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
