@lovelace2200 question lang how long will it take yung sleeper train from BKK to Vientiane? im planning to visit Laos this coming August thanks =)

Hi freakspinner! Here are the details:

sleeper train from Bangkok to Nong Khai: 12 hours
train from Nong Khai to Thanaleng train station in Laos: 15-20 minutes
Thanaleng train station to Central Vientiane: 30 minutes on the road

Medyo matagal ang byahe pero enjoy naman. Saka hindi mo naman mararamdaman kasi tulog ka naman sa train. Tapos makakatipid ka pa sa hotel. Simply Beautiful LAOS is "original Asia" lost elsewhere. The attractions most accessible to tourists are Buddhist culture in Luang Prabang, gastronomy in the capital of Vientiane, backpacking in Vang Vieng and ancient and modern culture and history in The Plain of Jars region of Phonsavan, trekking in Phongsaly or Luang Namtha, elephants in Sainyabuli, and a cave in Oudomxay.

I was able to cross the cambodia-laos border last april 2011, from phnom penh to vientiane via sleeper bus. i was not able to visit 4,000 islands; I only stayed in Champasak and Pakse. Yes, pinoys are visa-free to enter laos.
