To set the record straight, Alpargata shoes are nothing new. It’s been around since 14th century or so.
Both Paez shoes and Toms shoes are considered alpargata shoes. I’m not sure which company started first but we’re not in a race so that doesn’t really matter.
What I don’t understand is why had to say Paez shoes is a knockoff of their brand. Don’t believe them.
Let me help you understand why they had to lie.
1.) Toms founder got the idea when he visited Argentina. Blake (founder) did not invent shoes.
2.) Their prices are unbelievably high when in fact their shoes are just made in China.
3.) Their local distributor doesn’t have the same business model as Toms USA. Their employees might not even be able to buy their own pair of Toms.
Paez Shoes is handmade in Argentina. The California office they’re talking about is the US distributor which only started sometime last year or this year.
I personally think it is rather unfair that they distort information for business purposes. Somehow, this only shows what kind of people are behind the brand.
