UAAP 73 scheduling is bad...

napansin ko lang na medyo kakaiba ang scheduling this season compared to previous ones. dati, whenever a team plays on Thursday, it never plays again on Saturday and whenever teams play on Sunday, they rarely play again on Sunday next week and usually play on the following Thursday or Saturday.

Ngayon, some teams are able to play two games in one week (Thursday and Saturday) even before another team is able to their one game in the week.

Diba? It's an unfair scheduling. Some teams aren't able to rest, practice, and study properly kung one day lang ang ibibigay sa kanila before their next game. And some teams might get court rust if they are given about a week before their next game.

These teams aren't professional teams! They're just students!

And one anomaly again, main event caliber games are given the 2pm schedule and sub par teams versus one another are given the main event schedule like when the DLSU vs FEU game was scheduled on 2pm and a sub par team versus what I think was UST was scheduled on 4pm.

Has anybody else here noticed these scheduling anomalies? Sana naman ayusin na in the second round.

weird din kasi di naman puno ang ultra kahapon pero sobrang haba ng pila sa ticket

dun sa scheduling, di lang nila siguro inakala na gaganda ang performance (so far) ng la salle this season.

^obobs! tama lang ang scheduling noong July 29. main event naman talaga dapat ang NU vs. UST at curtain-raiser ang FEU vs DLSU. anomaly ka pa dyan. si Bb. Pilipinas 2010 Venus Raj nga hindi pinanood yung sa FEU-DLSU. ang pinanood niya ang yung NU game. kitang-kita ko ang pagdating niya kasi magkatapat lang kami ng upuan.

Regarding NU playing 2 straight games:
I dont know if you are familiar with the changes requested by NU to have their game moved from Sunday to Saturday to make the team available for their Anniversary celebration. Since they made that request, it goes without saying, they don't mind playing on a Saturday after playing on a Thursday.

Regarding DLSU and FEU being scheduled earlier:
It is easy to say that the FEU vs. DLSU match is main event caliber since you have the benefit of hindsight. The pre-season forecast predicted that the UST NU game would have been a more even match than FEU vs DLSU where FEU had been installed as favorites and DLSU expected to fight hard in order to break into the final 4. Obviously, DLSU only started impressing only after losing to NU.

Furthermore, if you ever suspected that DLSU vs. FEU would be a ticket seller, then playing the game earlier would allow DLSU and FEU fans to be seated better than if they played on the second game.

Apart from the schedule... sana ayusin din ang ticketing...

normal scenario talaga na aalis ang ibang audience after the first game (thus leaving the venue almost half empty)... so expect na may seats available for the second game. They should be ready to sell SRO tickets kahit saan naman ang venue. Wag na wag nilang sabihin na "ubos na ang tickets" kahit na "sobrang daming available seats sa loob".

- game 1: ADMU vs UE and game 2 DLSU vs UST Sa ULTRA? Sana naman maawa sila sa mga nagsisiksikang tao sa Ultra. Kung di available ang Araneta, i modify and schedule at gawan ng paraan para di naman mukhang sardinas mga tao nagsisiksikan sa Ultra. Don't even get me started with Ultra's parking - napaka unsafe pag big games kung san san na nakabalagbag yung mga cars.

I SUPER HATE the reserved seating policy na pauso ngayong season. Palibhasa kasi sa kanila online ang tickets nila(?) kaya walang hirap. Some people go to the venue early just to get good seats, yung iba petiks lang. Minsan pa ubos na yung tickets sa side niyo at kung saan saan ka mapupunta sa ticket mo.

Parang bumabalik ang issue ng ticketing.

Ganito lang kasi eh, kung may seats pa sa loob, bakit hirap makapasok yung gusto pang makanuod? ang sagot lang dyan is SRO tickets. Kailangan lang i-monitor from time to time yung number ng tao sa loob. Kahit hindi electronic ang ticketing, pwedeng gawan ng paraan. Sayang yung demand... may supply (seats naman) eh... kapos lang yung mode of transaction (ticket).

Hindi lang sa NU nangyari yung Thursday then Saturday games. Nangyari din ata sa AdU a few weeks back. And coincidentally, Ateneo din ata ang kalaban nila in the Saturday game similar to NU.

And hindi lang naman kasi ticket selling ang target ng scheduling. Remember, most people watch on TV instead of live. There are more people available to watch 4pm games and there are more DLSU and FEU fans that there are UST and NU fans. If the UAAP wanted more revenue from sponsors, e sana ginawa nilang main event ang DLSU vs FEU game.

On the contrary, I like the reserved seating policy. Whereas before, only the Patron/Ringside tickets are reserved, for me it's good that even that of Upper Box are reserved. When your ticket is already paid, it's nice to have a little right to be late and still have a seat.

Next Sunday, Ateneo and La Salle will play on the same day sa ULTRA. Una yung DLSU-AdU, tapos ADMU-UE, just imagine the nightmare everyone will have to go through. With that kind of ticketing system sa Philsports, siguro dapat mga 9 am palang pumunta na sa ticket booth yung mga tao.

iregardless of how strong ang isang team per season lagi dinudumog ng mga fans ang venue. **** kulelat pa sila sa ranking laging madaming attendance ang ibang school especially kapag gusto nila ang kalaban. usually ito yung mga school n kapag ngkatapat siguradong madaming attendance... and sana wala ng reservd seating lalo ngkakagulo...

Yan nga ang pansin ko. Before kapag may laro ang team niyo ng Thursday, Sunday na ang susunod na laro then saturday na ang susunod. Ngayon, isang araw lang ang pagitan, may laro na agad.

re: ticketing, I know OT pero yan ang hindi ko nagustuhan this year. para na ngang sardinas ang mga tao sa labas naghihintay ng balita kung magbebenta ba o hindi, hindi alam ng mga nasa loob. tapos hindi naman puno ang venue.
Dapat ata gawin parang sinehan ang bentahan ng ticket.

maglalabasan na naman ang mga scalper sa ultra! palakad ka palang papuntang ultra galing sa parking mo, lalapitan ka na ng mga yan at aalukin ng tickets, o di kaya, tatanungin kung may extra tickets ka! mas malala ang scalping sa ultra compared sa araneta.
