Android is Google's OS anyway.. So siguro to be expected talaga na full-blast ang gmail capabilities ng Android phones.. I don't mind using a gmail account anyway..

Virus sends costly text messages from Android phones

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Mobile security firm Lookout on Tuesday warned that a booby-trapped Movie Player application is infecting Android phones in Russia with a virus that sends costly text messages.

Russia-based Kaspersky Lab discovered the malicious "Trojan" code hidden in a media player application people are enticed to download onto smartphones.

"The new malicious program penetrates smartphones running Android in the guise of a harmless media player application," Kaspersky said in a blog post.

"The Trojan uses the system to begin sending SMSs to premium rate numbers without the owner’s knowledge or consent, resulting in money passing from a user's account to that of the cybercriminals."

The Trojan has apparently only affected handsets operating on Google-backed Android software in Russia.

The Media Player program does ask users to authorize "services that cost you money" prior to installation, according to Lookout, which advised people to protect themselves by refusing to grant such permission.

"With the discovery of this new Android Trojan, it is more important than ever to pay attention to what you're downloading," Lookout said.

"Stay alert to ensure that you trust every app you download.

Have you tested this with an RPG game, i.e. FFIV and Chrono Trigger? I'm not sure pero it looks like the program skips the part where you can load a saved game.

I'm currently trying out Launcher Pro. Pity the widgets (which appear to mimic HTC Sense widgets) are not free. I'm not gonna shell out for that when I could just toggle back to HTC Sense when I feel like it.

Oh... Anyway, SNesoid pala yung installed ko. I tried it out with FFVI and looks like loading of saved games is disabled. Full lang yata enabled.

Haven't actually tried it myself but I hear that HTC's Sense is really nice.

I am planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy S as soon as available na sya sa Samsung stores. Pero wala pa ako idea on how to "root" an android phone.

Quick overview naman guys on why do you have to "root" your phone and kindly refer nyo naman ako sa website na meron step by step way to "root" an android.
