yup, may mga squads na inuulit sa CDC ang routine nila sa halftime kaya wala ng gulat o wow factor pagdating ng CDC. kaya may edge talaga kung trads ang halftime.

and i also hate how other squads try to make their male cheerdancers act like gays on the floor.. yung kekembot (like what you said) and act like gays or girls. di na kasi benta yung ganun. nagmumukha lang kawawa yung ganun. i have nothing against gay cheerdancers pero yung mga straight na papakembotin to look like a gay/girl, parang trying hard at di na funny.

Trads, mixed with guys and gals. Ok lang ang cheerdance. Drumline, medyo di pa ako impressed masyado. Di pa ganun ka pulido ang lahat ng squads, for me. Maganda nga siguro kung synchronized and sabay ang drumbeats. Ateneo, so far has done a good job, but I feel it needs a lot more. But then again, its just me. Pwedeng di lang talaga ako drumline person.

trads na ginagawa ng mga tao sa drumline.
the once in a season thing makes this halftime special.
    kulit lang.

cheerdance, ever since HS I love watching cheerdance, and I myself is part of the cheerdance way back in my HS life....

Ano bang tawag dun sa half time cheer na puro lalaki lang nagpeperform? Madalas gawin ng Ateneo.

Sorry, but I find it boring, no entertainment at all.

i guess you're talking about traditional cheering.

for some non dlsu/admu students, they may find it boring but for the lasallians and ateneans, it's something that boosts up their school spirit. you'll never understand unless you're one of them or your school does it too.

when i first heard trads cheering, i was like "huh? anong pinagsasabi nila?" but when I understood the meaning of those cheers, I started to enjoy it.

trads lately were being modified to keep it more entertaining. ADMU sometimes uses their drumline along with the trads while DLSU incorporates cheerdance with their trads by doing tumblings, lifts and pyramids.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I don't really watch half time performances, I'd rather go out and smoke or take the opportunity to go to the toilet LOL. Yeah, mostly Ateneans and Lasalistas ang mga gumagawa nito. But last year, I've seen a traditional cheering of Adamson during halftime but with drums and some cheerleaders dancing along the beat.

I think mas entertaining nga yung traditional kung imi-mix mo with drums and some cheerdancing.

Since I cheer for Ateneo, I prefer the Traditional Cheers and the drumline. There is a level of pomp and circumstance in these halftime presentations (not to mention history) that no cheer dance can match.

I prefer cheerdance/cheerleading without canned music for halftime. So it's like a compromise between trads and cdc. If strictly trads, mas gusto ko kapag mix of girls and boys. Medyo boring talaga kung puro boys lang. And when I say mix of boys and girls, yung traditional male cheerleaders with typical female cheerleaders (with ponies, pompoms, in skirts, etc.). Hindi yung mga girls na naka-jogging pants (or worse, jeans) na nag-aastang lalake.

Halftime cheering ang gusto ko. Yoko ng trads, boring at paangasan lang usually.
Pinakagusto kong halftime exhibition ay yung may stunts (to get the audience's attention), dance (to entertain the crowd), yells and cheer to leade the crowd in cheering.

I prefer Traditional Cheering/Drumline. Mas may angas kaysa sa Cheer Dancing.

Wow, jevilei. Nabuhay ulit yung thread mo. Haha.

Wonder if we'd ever see BBB and AS do cheerdance during halftime. It's like seeing FEU do trads

    na nangyari na pala.

PS. Cheerdance class students from UP doing halftime lalo pag malapit na ang CDC FTW. Benta. Parang tayo yung pinagtripan nila.

I don't think trads are ever meant to entertain. Think of it as a call to arms.

    Off topic:
i remembered something from that cheering competition. i think yan ata yung may issue about the girl who introduced the dlsu pep squad. that was the peak of dlsu-admu rivalry. admu performed before dlsu and that girl forced the ateneo cads to leave the floor kaya cads didn't finish their routine. parang minadali na lang ata. lagpas na rin ata sa time limit nun ang ateneo. then it increased the tension between the dlsu and admu crowd. something like that...

    OT:
dlsu and admu use trads halftime during their ncaa years. it has been a tradition for these 2 schools to use "traditional cheers" during halftime.

it was only in the 90's when ust used traditional cheering via ust bangers (now, the ust yellow jackets). adamson just started their traditional cheering last year. i don't have any idea when did the feu and ue start traditional cheering but im quite sure that yj came in first.

i haven't seen up and nu do a traditional halftime. i believe they don't have such.
