Back in 1998 there was this channel on SKYCable called JET TV (ch.47), which showed lots of Japanese 13-episode dramas and movies dubbed in English. JET was a Singaporean network I think. Too bad they had to shut down in July 1998, 5 months after SKY brought them on their network.

Anyway, I watched "The Last Love," "Love and Eros," "L'oiseau Bleu," the witchcraft story "Eko Eko Azaraku" and my personal favorite, "Dear Woman." I watched so many of them I can't remember the others.

Nowadays I only stumble through NHK's drama series (my Japanese is rather rudimentary). Sigh.

Actually yung JET TV was already up as far back as 1996. Naabutan ko pa nga yung HS drama about this guy teacher na medyo long-hair and yung class niya I think is a senior year class.

Other notable Jap dramas:

When The Saints Go Marching In (Seija no Koshin)-a series about a bunch of 'unique', music-loving teens that work at the Takegami toy factory, pero inaalila sila-one girl even gets banged by their boss! One of the girls there, si Megumi Matsumoto, reminds me very much of Lilet/Marielle.

Divorce Party-ang story niya is about a couple na hindi pa nagtatagal ang kasal nila, gusto nang magpa-annul nung isa.

Heaven's Coins (Die Sterntaler)- May isang beterinaryo and yung assistant niyang babae na pipi. He falls for her, but the prob is, she's in love with his friend na kapwa doktor din. Bad trip na lang, I only got to watch the first and last episodes while I was in Singapore. The leading lady looked very much like my old crush!

Apparently wala akong alam masyado sa J-dorama, pero I've heard of some 'Teacher' series like Great Teacher Onizuka and Gokusen.

I've been meaning to go and watch a Jdorama coz i heard they were quite as good if not better than the chinovelas and koreanovela (my fave).

How would you rate the following dramas:

Long vacation
Summer snow
Love generation
GTO

These titles had good reviews at a jdorama website. Im thinking bout ordering one for a start.

i watched a japanese drama entitled strawberry on the shortcake...the lead character is takizawa hideaki...does anyone knows this guy???

out of these four i liked LONG VACATION the most... it had comedy and a balance of drama... the girl was so funny and the guy look so adorable! bagay na bagay sila

GTO is also gud... pero medyo bitin *** copy ko pero lam mo na **** *** ending kahit pano... he always wins!
