Haha.

Okay naman sa Isla Lipana. One of my college batchmates is in the Tax service and so far she's doing good. The managers don't require you to stay overnight. Latest time I left the office was at 8PM. But that was last busy season. Mukhang dadami na ang clients ng department namin this coming season for IT Audit. Kung sa trainings naman, marami kaming ganoon. Ang daming references that would really help sa work.

From my observation sa culture ng mainline audits (sa amin), kaya sila inaabot ng overnight dahil they come in late during the day tapos they take long and frequent breaks pa para abutin talaga ng kinabukasan. I mean, *** staff ng client goes home at 5PM (well, except dun sa mga naka-night shift) so what do you expect to get ng wee hours? That's just my opinion, please correct me if I am wrong.

Late reply. LOL.

I hate serious people in this business though.

oh yes, sense of humour....you need lots of those in that profession

Hello po, thank you for your ideas about the auditing profession.
I'm a BSA graduating student this March 2010.

About the auditors, I somehow observed personally what they are doing in their clients. I'm currently taking my internship in that firm's (would make it in secret) Accounting Department and probably will finish this this Tuesday(June 1).

My first impression about the 3 external auditors (the one going to their client's office, what do you call them? ) from Manabat Sanagustin & Co is that they're beautiful in my eyes

Is it because of the clients who are not cooperative regarding the documents needed to finish the procedure within timeline?

    yeah, somehow...
NOTE: No offensement and boasting intended
If me and my other 3 friends weren't taking our internship in our host, the accounting and treasury department of that firm might have a sort of a big problem. Though I don't have enough idea about their system, but just imagine the CVs for the month of October 2009-March 2010 weren't filed yet until April. We're the one's who filed it. Also, other files are missing... My co-officemates were into rush. The comptroller was somehow angry
Maybe, it's because they lack some personnels. Their Chief Accountant resigned last April. But the thing is, their performance should be improve or somehow they need some relaxation etc.

As a compliment, they're very cooperative and nice to work with.

The 3 auditors also spent an OT work last Thursday(9am-5am). Wow! Me, my friends, and some officemates helped them in finding the missing files and preparing the schedules...
I really help them not because I have a crush on 1 of the auditor(hehe) but because I somehow feel the pressure of the nature of their work. Their last day is yesterday, I supposed.

I hope I could see her again. She inspires me...

I will be a Financial Physician someday.

PS: Sorry for my grammar, I thankful for necessary corrections.

"hi sir larry! sir, i just want to ask for your advice. yung last take ko po was may 2006 pa. tapos, nung november 2009, nagpa-enrol po ako sa isang review center dito sa province po namin. pang evening po ako kasi po working ako. ok din naman po yung review. kasi po we have reviewers coming from prtc. tapos po, nag-take po uli ako last may 2010 kaso hindi po uli ako pinalad.
sir, do you think i still deserve another try despite po na i failed the exam thrice already? saka nga po pala, hindi pa po ako nagpapa-enrol for review this june. hehe. actually, pinag-iisipan ko pa po talaga.

Big big YES dudes. So deserve another try. Actually a lot of tries, if needed, until finally you make it.

I know some CPAs who took them many attemps before they finally passed the CPA exam. I mean more than you would normally imagine. Aside from that, they were also working at the same time during their review and take note, some of them have already their own families. Yet they made it. They passed the CPA exam.

Do not lose hope dude. Maintain the spirit and the will to pass the board exams. Beleive me! If you lose the courage and the will to pass the exam, that's the time you fail. Not now.

    Thanks!

Good luck, wag mawalan ng pag-asa.

rinoadin84, tama si sir larry. ipagdasal mo rin. ask guidance from above kung yan ba ang gusto nya para sayo. then this time, perhaps you need to change your study schedule. suggestion ko lang, from your targeted date na board exam, i schedule mo na ngayon ang mga kailangan mong aralin. yung schdules na magawa mo would be such in a way na enough na maintindihan mo ang subjects at covered lahat ng subject sa board exam.

To sir larry: kamusta po. I was one of the attendees on a seminar to which you were one of the speaker. it was held in Univ. of Cebu-Lapu-lapu, Mandaue. It was MAS for the academe and it was held around 2004, kung hindi ako nagkamali. Naging teacher din kc ako minsan. It was a nice experience. At pareho tayo ng observation in terms of books. I also prefer using foreign books dahil sa maganda ang pagka explain at may actual application of the concepts sa mga real companies.
