any firm from big4, but TOXIC
I agree with you, Sincerit_y..
Toxic but worthy to start with as a new CPA... Although salary & benefits are not that high as in Commerce and Industry practice, advantage includes exposure in actual audit/assurance/internal audit services by a CPA...exposure in various systems, industries, different people, appreciation of the auditing standards/procedures..It's really a fulfilling start of CPA Career.
With the big CPA firms here in the Philippines, affiliation with BIG CPA Firm worldwide (EY, Deloitte, PWC and KPMG), dami resources ng mga ideas/knowledge as compared sa small CPA Firms...audit tools magaganda at mga procedures talaga eh maaappreciate mo... and after mo magwork sa big CPA firms here, okay na okay ang offer sa aapplyan mo...dala mo name nila...![]()
If you're the type who doesn't mind losing a big chunk of your social life, or just you life in general then go to an auditing firm. But it all depends in the service line which you will be working on. The most notorious of which is the mainline AUDIT. Again, if you're accustomed to having no night life at all, then go ahead.
If you still want to work in one of the big 4 firms, and want a balanced life, I will have to suggest that you try other service lines. Like Tax or IT-audit.
Nightlife is overrated anyway. Ah.. love the audit life.
syempre its SGV & Co... hehehhe...im a not a CPA, but my ate works in SGV for 10 years now hehe. He was borrowed by EY Australia and now he's back with SGV heheh. Salary is not that big when your still a staff. My ate started at SGV receiving less than 10k per month...now her salary is x 10 to her first salary in that firm... hehe
try nyo nga pala basahin article na to and please comment...sa mga auditors and accountants here, let's try to discuss this here:
auditors
Thank you sa mga nagpost!
I think I am already decided to join an auditing firm, but not yet sure kung saang service line. Here are my options: SGV & Co., Manabat Sanagusting, Isla Lipana and P&A.
We conducted a study about SGV's organizational culture last sem and I think interesting to start my career in SGV. But what are the pros and cons in working for them and not with other auditing firms? Thank you!
there are ways to cut down on OT, pero minimal lang siguro 1 hour per day ang ma sa save among my peers dami kasing accounts.
5 years din ako sa practice. ng umalis ako at mag abroad to join an FMCG, dun ko na realize na grabe pala ang workload ng isang auditor. sabi ng bagong boss ko, bakit daw tinapos ko yung 5 days worth of work in 1 day. nga pala, yung mga auditor naman namin dito sa abroad, nag o OT din sila pero usually hanggang 7 lang, grabe na pag inabot ng 8.
well to the TS, maghanap ka ng audit firm na malawak ang client base.
whole year round ba talagang everyday ang OT or if busy season lang? gusto ko kasing magwork sa auditing firm pero parang di ko kaya kung everyday ang OT. anong line of service ba ang pinaka-less ang OT?
reminders sa mga gustong mag-audit firm
immediately right after board exam, kuhain nyo agad grade nyo
at kung pumasa naman, diretso agad makati, then take employment
exam
Halos pare-pareho lang naman ang Big4 firms in terms of workload and compensation. The only advice that I can give are:
Merong strict at may not-so-strict.
You are entering an audit firm mostly due to the training and exposure so be sure na mahahagip ang interest mo.
4.) and lastly, assess your finances. starting a career in audit is really an investment at the first years. wag ka mag demand ng bonggang bonggang salary.
Hello there, ok ba mag work sa Tax group ng Isla Lipana & Co, a member firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers?
Feedback is highly appreciated.
