    Men in Black 3D (2012)

Columbia Pictures announced today that Men in Black III will be released in 3D on May 25, 2012. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are returning to produce and Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the first two installments of the blockbuster franchise, will direct the film from a screenplay written by Etan Cohen, based on the comic book by Lowell Cunningham. Steven Spielberg is set to executive produce.

Will Smith has officially signed on with Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin in final talks. There were also rumors that Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Brüno) and Jemaine Clement (Gentlemen Broncos, "Flight of the Conchords") will be joining the movie.

The film will use a time travel element that moves the action from contemporary back to 1969. Brolin will play the younger version of Jones's Agent Kay character.

Jemaine Clement to Play MIB3 Villain

"Flight of the Conchords" star Jemaine Clement is in final negotiations to play one of the villains in Columbia's Men in Black 3. Most of the new casting will be the villains, whose identities, look and super-abilities are being kept under lock and key. It is known that Clement is playing a villain named Boris, who is described as being charmy and creepy at the same time.

Men in Black III Teaser Video Featuring Will Smith

Even though the film hasn't started shooting yet, a brand new teaser clip for an upcoming sequel has hit the internet along with word on a new screenwriter for the film. Sony Insider has debuted a brand new teaser video clip for Men in Black III, which has already been set for release on May 25, 2012. It was also said that the video was shot in 3D, which is why the clip is so blurry, and debuted at a Sony 3D TV launch event.

While Smith has officially signed on to return as Agent Jay, Jones is in advanced negotiations to return as Agent Kay. Josh Brolin is also in talks to play the younger (1969) version of Kay. Others rumored to have parts in the film include Sacha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement. It was later confirmed that Clement had landed the role of Boris (formerly named “Yaz”). Production of the sequel is tentatively set to begin during the 2010 Fall season and will welcome back producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. Steven Spielberg is also set to return as executive producer.

Men In Black 3 Plot Details

The film has Agent Jay sent back in time to 1969 where he teams up with a young Kay to stop an evil villain named Yaz from destroying the world in the future, and I've got a few more details about the project to share with you here.

    - There’s only one real bad guy in the film, and it’s Yaz, described as a nightmare biker who looks like Dennis Hopper and Satan. But it would seem it would be hard to craft a “badass hell biker” villain who is played by Flight of the Conchord’s Jemaine Clement and named after a side-effect prone brand of birth control. He’s not meant to be particularly funny and the movie is careful to describe him as oozing badassery and violence out of every pore, which makes me wonder why they’d cast Clement over someone more appropriate like Ron Perlman or Mickey Rourke.

    - Further casting questions come up when it’s revealed Kay is supposed to be 26 in 1969. Josh Brolin is 42, Tommy Lee Jones is 64. That’s quite the gulf there, on a few different levels, and as talented as Brolin is, looking 40 years young than Tommy Lee Jones is pushing it. I can however see him playing a somewhat younger version of Jones’ stone-faced Kay quite well, and I think he’d be a good balance to Smith’s antics.

    - The time travel plot actually kind of works in the MIB universe because there’s no real need for it to make perfect sense since the tone of the series is so goofy. But this spawns a lot of stereotypical time-travel comedy moments, including the mandatory “You’ve gotta believe me!” intro where Jay tries to convince past Kay he’s from the future and obvious jokes about Jay being black in the ‘60s.

First Look at Josh Brolin as Young Agent K in MEN IN BLACK III
We now have our first look at Josh Brolin who plays the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, Agent K. For those unfamiliar with the plot, the story this time around involved Agent J (Will Smith) going back to the 1960s to save K and thus prevent a universe-ending catastrophe.

Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the film also stars Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn and Johnny Knoxville. Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25, 2012.

Ugh, seriously they still had the balls to make another one after that suckfest of a sequel? The first one was tolerable enough but I hated part 2 with a passion, a complete waste of time. As long as Barry Sonenfield is attached to this this third installment will suck as bad.
