Hindi ka dapat ma-confuse. Kapag nasa iyong "teritoryo" ka, you can get away with almost anything you would have to say about anybody besides your school. Mods give leeway to such expressions of disgust, anger, disappointment, hatred, or simply flaming your specific target team but only if it is done in your own backyard. Bakit ka pa lalayo sa paghanap ng flexibility in rules when it is already done in the other side whenever Ateneans and Lasallians do their usual verbal jabs at each other (aka Trollin' & Flamin'). The difference is that moderators intervene when discussions get out of hand rarely. Take note, when
it is out of hand. In some ways, the dialogue breaks down every now and then, but comes back to that normal state wherein nobody cares any longer what trolls can throw at them because some of the pexers learned to adapt. Of course Mods and Admins adapt too as much as possible because we value what everyone has to say, even uncivilized words are given a chance to be expressed except of course text-speak.
Now in our case here, we have visitors from other schools posting subtle flames in turf threads that often disrupt the flow of discussions. We already closed down the virtual trash can as requested, so we limit the trash within the turf threads. The idea is to
adapt to the environment provided and limit the hatin', gossip-mongering, flaming, and yes, even intruding without permission as I see fit. The problem that I see right now is that some of your brethren are too eager for their own good. And that is why I have to step in again, delete some posts and nip it in the bud before it gets worse. At the same time if I see a pexer from their own turf that disrupts the turf, he/she can also be subject to intervention.
There are general rules (user agreement) and there are forum rules (as per Mod policy differs in different fora). I'm not a robot mod who automatically censors or bans you and some of your brethren and the rest here. It would totally destroy the very purpose of exchanges. And so we go back to that never-ending quote that a lot of pexers take for granted here and care not to remember. So please, remind yourselves before you post anything that recalls your upbringing, regardless of school affiliations.
You are what you post.
It involves taking the high road, leaving your opponents alone, never adding insult to injury, avoid sourgraping and taking potshots, or simply stop flaming for the sake of getting that much needed attention for intellectual discourse that evades you. It goes on and on and on as you may already noticed. The ironic part is it had to start from your side, again. And it had to end in a way that I have to use my delete and ban functions just to stress a point.
And do we progress in exchanges or do we just practice the same old styles whenever the season kicks into high gear? I believe we have, that is why I need not be strict all the time and institutionalize forum rules for the satisfaction of regulars here. You may claim that your brethren make up a sizable portion of this forum, and lest you forget, we have 6-7 other schools with their own groups here. The difference is the noise content that some do in your group that leaves a lasting mark.
We made a trash can, it doesn't work. We make Turf Thread Rule, it has to work. Otherwise, you will see me cleaning almost half of what you guys posted in your own thread, and for the rest of the turf threads to be spick and span. That is if you want to revert to the Old School style of cleaning this forum. Where the Mop, Broom, Vacuum, and Cleanser is always available. I believe maturity exists here, that is why I need not take over a class like your grade school teacher.
I can't recall how many seasons I have been cleaning here and it's encouraging me to improve on the content and discussions, but at the same time, let you boys be little boys with slingshots, keyboard warriors wanting to capture the flag in every territory because your school pride needs a rub, armchair analysts wanting to take the coaching job, blind-item experts that Christy Fermin would blush in embarrassment, and yes flaming because you like seeing your opponents in pain and you want to be a Little Troll that could. I know you guys like the challenge every season, but it gets boring so we have to spice it up a little for the sake of having a great PEx experience. Flexibility is the key!
And you know what saddens me, I think I can get through you when I explain a lot here or through PM! But for the rest of the newbies here. I can't recall how many of them read this thread or the Reminders. So we aim to make them see.
