We used to have Sawtooth herb. Culantro. Vietnamese Coriander I think is another name for it. Sarap yan i-chop tapos i-pang marinate sa chicken breast. Add ground pepper, salt, olive oil. Grill or pan-bake.

Anyone familiar with the Asi Tava plant? Not sure if that's the right spelling. I'm just spelling it the way I hear it.
We're trying to grow more of this on a small soil bed.

Sabi it's medicinal (good for hypertension and diabetes) and can be eaten as a salad. I've tasted it w/o any dressing. Parang spinach ang texture and taste.

Mr. Gugel says it's called Leaves of God if my research is right. Also known as a Lucid dreaming herb. It helps daw in giving you a good night's sleep... a psychoactive herb.

Anybody familiar with this and its uses? Curios lang.

    Thumbs up

Ok.. I guess I was wrong about my post above. When this plant was given to us ang sabi Ashitaba (Asitava/Acitaba) daw sya. Upon more research on Google it seems na that this is sometimes confused as the real-deal ASHITABA (aka Tomorrow Leaf Plant or Angelica Keiskei Koidzumi) when in fact, the one we have pala, this on is called Gynura procumbens (aka Longevity Spinach/Cholesterol Spinach). However, more or less, same ang health benefits of the Angelica Keiskei Koidzumi and the Gynura procumbens. They're both anti-hypertension and anti-diabetes.

Anyway, just posting this info in case anyone's interested. Here are some links I read about both:

    Ashitaba

    Gynura procumbens
    Gynura Procumbens 2

    Source: http://mrsmartinezravesandrants.blogspot.com

Btw, in some other articles it say that both Ashitaba and Gynura procumbens are also anti-cancer plants.

Anyway, these are both interesting plants to know about.

rooting some lemon grass and pandan

taraq, so i'm assuming you're not in the philippines

that's not a cutting, it's a plant that had it's roots cut when it was sold.

pandan will have pups eventually once they're big enough. di lang ako makaantay dahil gusto ko pa dumami angp andan ko.

    tubig lang.

never mind the variegated pandan, can i just have the paso?

  14. #2074

kung pandan talaga yan edi edible tlaga yan. best to try is to steep a leaf or two in hot water, kung amoy pandan nga. edi edible sya. hehe.

nilagay ko lang sa cup na may tubig. matagal bago lumabas ang roots. Actually ito lang ang nabuhay sa 5 cuttings na sinubukan kong ipropagate. I will try other methods pag malago na to.
