Cheryl 'Excited' About X Factor US
Reports suggest Simon Cowell is even helping Chezza house hunt in LA...
17:04, Tuesday, 13 April 2010
Cheryl Cole is reportedly close to signing up a judge on the US version of the X Factor.
According to heat magazine, Chezza has already starting looking for a LA base with fellow judge Simon Cowell helping her house hunt in the star studded Beverly Hills district.
The Girls Aloud star and Cowell are said to have viewed a number of properties in the area, with Cheryl reportedly 'excited' about the move.
An insider told the magazine: "Cheryl is really excited about what she is already referring to as her second home…"
The source added: "Working in America will be a dream come true for her."
Cowell has previously hinted that he wants to make the Parachute singer a permanent fixture on X Factor US when the series launches next year.
It is thought that Simon also wants current X Factor host Dermot O'Leary to join Cheryl in America for the series which is expected to launch next year when Cowell can focus preparations for the show, once he leaves American Idol after this season.
Cheryl recently stated that being on the X Factor in England has given her confidence although she is unsure whether those in American will understand her strong Geordie accent.
Meanwhile on X Factor UK, Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberly Walsh is rumoured to be replacing Xtra Factor host Holly Willoughby who recently confirmed she would not be returning to the show this time around.
Pregnant Dannii Minogue will return for the next series, despite speculation surrounding her position due to her pregnancy.
Louis Walsh may beat Cheryl Cole to the US X Factor job
By 3am's Clemmie Moodie and Danielle Lawler 26/04/2010
She was one of the favourites for the American X Factor job - but now Cheryl Cole faces some seriously cheeky competition.
It seems that her fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh is an unlikely hit across the Atlantic - and he might pull off a major shock and snatch the job from under Cheryl's nose.
The Yanks have fallen in love with his cheeky Irish charms and are keen on him to be a part of Simon Cowell's new US show.
Bigwig executives reckon Louis would have a better connection with the US audience thanks to the strong Irish/American links.
Cowell has already started planning for his new show - which is due on screens next year - and has told his staff to come up with some seriously spectacular ideas to blow away American Pop Idol.
Members of his UK team jetted over to LA last month to present ideas to the big man, including suggestions for presenters and a stunning grand finale show from Las Vegas.
An American source said: "Everyone presumes Cheryl will get offered the job because she looks the part.
"She's gorgeous and extremely camera-friendly and now has the working relationship with Will.I.Am which will help her break through in the States.
"But during test screenings they did struggle with her strong Geordie accent."
However, they had no such problems with Louis.
We're told: They absolutely loved him. Anything Irish they adore and they think he is a right character. It might surprise a few people in Britain that they would consider Louis over Cheryl, but there is a huge Irish community.
"They can relate to Louis more than Cheryl. They saw her as another pretty pop girl - and they have plenty of them already.
"It's not like in the UK where she has grown to become the nation's sweetheart. They don't really know her back story yet.
"They won't announce the presenters until nearer the time, but Louis is now well ahead in the race to win the seat."
Whoever would have thought it? That sure would put an extra little twinkle in those smiley Irish peepholes....
no cheryl cole please. mas okay nga na si louis nalang...
parang si paula si cheryl but not in an endearing way...
Simon Cowell set to sign Dermot O'Leary and Cat Deeley for US X Factor
SIMON Cowell is set to sign up Brits Dermot O'Leary and Cat Deeley for his US version of The X Factor.
The TV supremo believes Dermot will be a massive star in America as host of the main show while Cat will front the spin-off series, The Xtra Factor.
The pair, who both started in children's TV, will be seen by an audience of up to 30million,dwarfing even the 19million who tuned in for the British X Factor final in December.
A TV insider said: "Apart from a seat on the panel, these are two of the most fought-over jobs on TV at the moment.
"So for two Brits to be on the verge of landing them is a massive talking point their stars are about to go stratospheric.
"Dermot and Cat must be laughing about how all those years of being gunked on kids TV have finally paid off."
The move bodes well for X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, 26, who has also been heavily tipped to land a seat on the judging panel alongside her mentor Cowell.
Cheryl held talks with producers when she flew out to LA in February following the breakdown of her marriage to Chelsea and England star Ashley, 29.
Cowell, 50, is said be keen to launch Cheryl in the US, where he believes she could become a huge star. It would leave two slots on the panel of judges, which are expected to be taken by established American names.
Dermot, 36, who launched his career on Channel 4s teen strand T4 and also presents his own Radio 2 show, moved out to Los Angeles in February in an attempt to raise his profile. His TV {producer girlfriend Dee Kopang is already based there.
Cat, 31, who started out at MTV before appearing alongside Ant and Dec on kids series SM:TV Live, has seen her career go from strength to strength since moving to LA in 2006.
Now dating Anjelica Hustons {nephew Jack Huston, she is the face of hit series So You Think You Can Dance?
mukhang manyakis naman si dermot eh kung makayakap sa mga contestants....there was this black girl na nag audition last year at bago sumalang yung auditionee eh biglang niyakap niya muna like a goodluck hug tapos yung mga kasamahan nung black girl: eeeww ang tingin nila kay dermot...lmao
so L.A Reid and Simon are the only confirmed judges so far...
I hope the TS is still here and maybe we could change the title to X factor US
I'm excited for this show! Good job Simon Cowell for bringing it to America.

LA Reid to Judge Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’
Island Def Jam chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid has been recruited by Simon Cowell to serve as a judge on his U.S. version of “The X Factor,” scheduled to air later this year on Fox.
Sources tells The Hollywood Reporter “it’s a done deal.” However, an official announcement will be made later this week, according to an insider.
Reid, whose contract with Universal Music is up in December, will get an early release so that he can take part in the talent series, which awards a Sony Music recording contract worth $5 million to the winner.
Reid is expected to be one of four judges. It is also believed that he will land a position at Sony Music, which is about to undergo a major management restructuring when current UMG chairman Doug Morris steps in as CEO of Sony Music on July 1.
Auditions for “X Factor” begin on March 27 in Los Angeles.
Jessica Simpson Approached to Judge X Factor USA
Could pop sensation Jessica Simpson possibly be the next judge to join Simon Cowell’s highly anticipated X Factor USA?
The singer and reality star recently revealed to Women’s Wear Daily that she has been approached to partake in Cowell’s new singing competition.
“They have definitely talked to me about ‘X Factor,’” Simpson said. “I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.” (Source)
With all this star power hopping on the X Factor bandwagon, could this ultimately spell the end for television powerhouse American Idol? Maybe! We’ll just have to wait and see…

The X Factor: USA auditions attract thousands
A record-breaking 18,000 wannabes attended the first round of The X Factor auditions in Los Angeles, the highest turnout for a singing competition in the city.
Hopeful contestants queued in the rain for hours and entertained themselves by singing and dancing together.
Simon Cowell and L. A. Reid were not present, but executive producer Andrew Llinares said he was very happy with the public response: "Los Angeles is our first city. And we're thrilled with the turnout.
"It's amazing. We're going to be going to five other cities. Six cities in total. So, we're hoping people show up elsewhere."
Simon Cowell has yet to confirm who else will be joining him on the judging panel, though Paula Abdul, Jessica Simpson and Mariah Carey are said to be on the short-list.
Filipinos audition for 'X Factor' USA
MANILA, Philippines – A number of Filipinos joined the Los Angeles leg of the auditions for the Simon Cowell-produced “X Factor” on March 27 (US time). According to a report aired on “Mornings@ANC,” these hopefuls were all vying for a place in the show’s first-ever US premiere telecast, where the winner stands to take home a $5 million pot money and a record deal.
Braving rainy weather, one Angeline Meehan came in a funky outfit and a pink Afro wig. She told ANC, “I was going for a Harajuku girl, Lady Gaga-Nicki Minaj type of deal.” A Filipino guy also spoke to ANC and revealed that he was dedicating his efforts to his mother who just had a stroke but nevertheless did not want him to miss out on this opportunity.
Maureen Gamboa came to the auditions with family—notably Clint Jun Gamboa, who made it to “American Idol” Season 10’s top 24 and was booted out just as the show picked its top 13 finalists.
“You have to be confident and steal the show… and go on there and give them personality and have fun,” the "Idol" cast-off told his cousin.
These Filipinos are only a few of the thousands of talented people who showed up at the auditions, which will also move to New York, Texas, Seattle, Florida and Chicago in the next few weeks. Incidentally, it is rumored that Fil-American Nicole Scherzinger, the former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, might actually be part of the show.
PEPSI is Announced as the Official Sponsor of The X Factor!
Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), Syco Television and FremantleMedia North America today announced Pepsi as an official sponsor of THE X FACTOR, the award-winning international phenomenon created and executive-produced by Simon Cowell that makes its highly anticipated stateside debut in fall 2011 on FOX.
The comprehensive sponsorship of THE X FACTOR by Pepsi includes an extensive, multi-platform off-air marketing partnership; weekly in-show integrations and placements; and an immersive content experience online. Pepsi will be the exclusive beverage sponsor of THE X FACTOR both on and off-air.
“THE X FACTOR’s move to the U.S. is important because it’s about real excellence in music; from the selection of the artists, the development of their performances and the music they ultimately produce,” said Frank Cooper, Chief Consumer Engagement Officer of PepsiCo Americas Beverages. “When you combine those elements with Pepsi’s own deep heritage in music and focus on advancing popular music, you have a powerful partnership that benefits artists, fans and music culture.”
“I am absolutely delighted Pepsi is going to be our partner for THE X FACTOR in America,” said Cowell. “It feels like the perfect fit, and I love their ambition and excitement.”
“We are thrilled to welcome a beloved, innovative brand like Pepsi to THE X FACTOR family,” said Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group. “Throughout its history, Pepsi has been known for being unique, fun and refreshing – and that is exactly the type of talent that THE X FACTOR celebrates.”
“With Pepsi as an official sponsor, we have the opportunity to introduce incredibly exciting, one-of-a-kind initiatives that complement the creative spirit of THE X FACTOR,” said Jean Rossi, President of FOX One and Executive Vice President of Sales for Fox Broadcasting Company. “Our marketing partnership with Pepsi will showcase more groundbreaking integrations and promotions that we continue to build at FOX.”
“The best partnerships are always the most organic ones, and we feel a strong creative fit between Pepsi’s brand positioning and THE X FACTOR,” said Keith Hindle, CEO Americas, FremantleMedia Enterprises. “The scale of Pepsi’s ambition for the show is as high as ours, so this is a great opportunity to further build the brand together in the U.S.”
THE X FACTOR is a competition series that gives viewers the opportunity to help choose the next musical megastar. The judges will travel the nation searching for undiscovered talent of any age – both solo artists and groups – who are willing to brave the panel of experts and the American public for a chance to make it big. THE X FACTOR raises the bar and takes the initial auditions to an exciting and explosive new level as the hopefuls will audition not only for the judges, but also in front of a live audience of thousands in venues across the country. The concert-like atmosphere will bring a new dimension to the performances, giving the contestants an opportunity to prove they have the whole package – vocal ability, charisma and stage presence – from the moment they step on stage.
Those contestants who survive the first auditions graduate to “boot camp” and will then be divided into four categories: girls under 25, boys under 25, individuals over 25 and groups. Each category will be mentored by one of the show’s judges, including the inimitable Cowell. The contestants will be put through the paces and mercilessly whittled down until the top acts remain. Not only is it a battle between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it’s also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to America to decide who ultimately has THE X FACTOR.
THE X FACTOR is produced by Syco Television and FremantleMedia North America. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz (AMERICAN IDOL, “America’s Got Talent”), Richard Holloway and Andrew Llinares serve as executive producers.
