    Ano sa Cebuano ang...

I am a proud Cebuano and I love the Cebuano language. It is a sad truth that many of young Cebuano people nowadays cannot speak straight Cebuano. May dalang pagmahay pa.

For non-Cebuano speakers, what words do you want to be translated in Cebuano?

    Go!

Anu ba yung jerjer? Madalas kasi yan sabihin ng classmate ko. Saka yung lo-lo ba yun?

Jerjer is a newly invented word by Teban for sex.

    Lolo is masturbation.

Your mind is full of impurities.

Have you read Father Cabonce's Cebuano-English dictionary? The good priest spells the Cebuano word for sex as it is. There is nothing sinful in it.

Minsan may mga bisaya akong kausap tapos pag nagtanong ako kunyari ganito:

    Ako: Diin si Andrew?

    Jon: Nag jerjer sa ilaha.

For me its sounds more like andrew is masturbating. hehehe

    Lolo naman;

    Ako: Peste ka!

    Jon: Lolo nimo!

this one sounds more like iyot/sex.

kasi kapag trinanslate mo sa tagalog yan ito ang kalalabasan:

    Ako: Hayop ka!

    Jon: Jakol ka!

Sorry sa mga wholesome people dito hehe! I just want some clarifications.

That is cebuanized Tagalog, derived from "ayos".

Ok let's skip to the next term.

    Tamad?

So much for the jerjer thing =)

yung magkaparehas sa bisaya at tagalog pero iba meaning.
Madalas kong marinig yung langgam. Sa tagalog nasa lupa pa lang, sa bisaya lumilipad na.

Hehe dami pa akong narinig na parehas pero iba meaning.
Nung una ko rin sa visayas eh nahirapan ako intindihin kung kailang gagamitin yung dili. Diba pag tinanong ka kung nakaligo ka na ang sagot mo sa tagalog ay 'hindi pa' so reply mo 'dili pa' yun pala dapat 'wa pa' na wala pa sa tagalog... Hehe... Just reminiscing those days.
