    Ateneo PE

Now is about the time that incoming freshmen like myself ask about the PE choices/courses of the Ateneo. Which PE courses would you recommend?

    Aerobics
    Swimming
    Badminton
    Physical Fitness for Women
    Table Tennis
    Running
    Lawn Tennis
    Soccer
    Weight Training for Men
    Basketball
    Arnis
    Volleyball
    Fencing
    Judo
    Ballroom Dancing
    Tae-kwon-do
    Taichi
    Yo-ga
    Tap Dance
    Muay-Thai
    Wu-shu)

    Thanks!

    Ballroom Dancing!

Seriously, during my time, lagi siyang ubos agad. you know who usually are eager to sign up for this class? The boys! They say its a great way to meet the new froshie chicks, kasi boy-girl ang partnering siyempre.

But seriously, when you're in freshmen year college, most people's age range are from 16-19, with 17 the median. At this age, madami mga girls ang nagdedebut. Some guys actually say what they learned in ballroom dancing actually helped them if they are part of the 18 roses ng classmate nilang nag-debut.

but given the list, wish i could pick muay thai or wushu. those weren't offered over a decade ago, haha...

^Thank you! ;D Yun first choice ko, because i really want to learn how to ballroom dance but I was thinking about taking that up for my second sem, so I'm still don't know what to take for my first sem.

How does Ateneo PE work anyway? Everyone has to take a different PE course for each sem, right? So in my first year, I'll be able to take two, right? ;D Thanks!

    Yes, to your questions!

Btw, I took Tap-Dance, Basketball, Tae-Kwon-Do and Soccer. Hahaha. Be sure to have a good random number. My first PE was obviously a result of a very, very, very NICE random number. Hahaha, btw, good luck!

Take Ballroom kapag second sem, I hear the boy/girl ratio is usually more equitable (well, at least it was when I took it hahaha).

Yes, I'll be taking ballroom for my second sem. I was thinking of taking Yoga up for first sem, haha. What do you think? I'm not really flexible, but I think it might be fun )

  7. #7
di mo makukuha slot dun sa yoga and ballroom for sure.. coz the sophomores enlist before freshies... hahah... I suggest you get judo, though it is done in BEG, walang practical practical. competition lang sa finals. And, it's fun...

Thank you everyone! You've helped me a lot. Now, since I can only choose my PE and Science subjects as a freshie, who do you recommend?

I got the list of PE staff from the AdMU website Thanks!

Kung gusto mo relaxed ka, try Wu Shu/Tai Chi/Table Tennis/Yoga(ata)?
If you want intense, try TKD, Muay Thai (from what I've heard), Running (from what I've observed).
    Hope that helped haha

I want Yoga, but someone told me I might not get that since Sophs get to enlist before the freshies. haha thanks so much everyone!

huh, I was thinking of taking Running. I'm not the sporty type, I don't really know how to play Basketball or Soccer, I don't like to compete/fight so not really into TKD and other sports like that one, how about Weight Training?

If you really want to run then by all means do it, ako lang I just don't like the idea of running around the campus, lalo na with the scorching heat of the sun Pero kung walang araw magru-running ako haha

    Up!

Meron bang nadagdag sa listahan ng mga PE ?

Is it required to take your PE subjects? Do you only take them during your first 2 years ?

    TIA

  15. #15
You can't graduate without taking your PE subjects, unless you're an athlete. May dancesport na. Nung time ko wala pa nun.

  16. #16
take yoga as your last PE, doon mo kakailanganin ang relaxation.

  17. #17
Yes! Though boring siya, you'll have the chance to relax. Yun nga lang, yoga classes are early.

  18. #18
    take arnis!!!

masaya si coach gialogo... hahaha XD

  19. #19
what are the relatively popular pe choices in the 1st year?

  20. #20
Do you need to be skilled sa isang sport ba for you to take that PE? Say Soccer, kailangan bang may background ka sa sport na yun, or skills? I'm just afraid na maiwanan or something. Parang gusto ko lang matuto ng sports na yun.
