STOCKS vs FOREX ???

Hi peeps!

I am a forex trader. I haven't tried owning a share of stocks but, I a have a stock account and I havn't traded one yet. I have a friend who is fond of investing in stocks that is why I got an idea on how this stock works also.

Long term and short term trading is also possible in forex trading depending on the strategy and your preference.

Stocks has dividend while forex has swaps.

Nothing in life is happy-happy, joy-joy.
Investments in general always come with a risk. However whether this risk is high or low is mostly defined by the investor. You don't start throwing money in doubtful investment opportunities or high risk instruments. You have to know the field you would like to be active in or you have to be able to ask someone who knows, f.e it's very helpful when your broker offers customer support.

I started trading the stock market in 2005 with 50k peso capital, managed to lose 50% in less than a year. I got my money back the following year then went nowhere for two years. Confident enough I added more funds to trade. 2009 was the best year for my trading career as I've doubled my capital in just a few months. Withdrawn some to rebuild my parents' house, paid off my car loan and a personal high interest loan. Now I'm currently debt free.

Both markets have their risks. The main difference is that in stock market you have to study the company itself and decide if its stock is fair-priced or overrated. On the other hand in forex you have to see the bigger picture like the US market (when trading USD) or the Eurozone (when trading EUR). However getting burned is easier than you expect in both stock and forex markets!

Did both and I personally think na mas risky ang forex kaysa stocks. But I like Forex better.
