^^^ If I'm not mistaken Don Bosco is dominating this league.

Parang weird, Don Bosco Manda should be a part of our NCAA since halos malapit lang siya sa JRU.

If I'm not mistaken it was Don Bosco who won the 2009 basketball championship. Perpetual and Letran are doing well too.

All of the member schools of our sister league are performing well. It's just that not enough attention is given here.

Anyway, there are no current updates to this thread not until the opening of the next season.

That would be a great move for the Salesians. DB Manda for Seniors and DB Makati for HS! I just don't know if they can or will shell out that entry fee. Matibay pa naman Football program nila but what about the other sports? One of the requirements is that they can participate in the other sports offered. They should've undergone a long-term program in terms of recruiting other athletes for them to be competitive in the General Championship.

Nah. DBTC's own high school sports program can float. I should now. Doon ako galing e.

I also agree umayos ang football program namin when Apolinar Arenal became coach. IIRC, he played for CSB in college, right? Batchmate ko yan

Diba Busko was also bidding for a slot sa NCAA "main" two years back? And I don't buy the Lycevm press release na high school team nila kami. We can float on our own, Mr. Gonzales(+).

Vatican ang magbabayad ng entry fee namin. Italyano ata patron saint namin.

And sana naman huwag na mag-wild card ang DLSU-M sa PCCL. Napapahiya ng alma mater ko ang alma mater ko e

Sana makalipat DB Manda sa atin, 2 na rin preferred ko manalo. Grey Wolves and Blazers!

Don Bosco leads early NCAA-South pacesetters
    by Christian Soler
    Thursday, 9 September 2010

DON BOSCO Technical College-Mandaluyong served up a lesson on endgame grit as it held off First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities, 73-71 to launch its title defense in the seniors division of the NCAA-South Season 12 at the FAITH Gymnasium in Tanauan City, Batangas last Thursday, September 9.

Veterans Charles Corpuz and Bjorn Casibang towed their younger teammates on hostile ground as they combined for almost half of the victorious Grey Wolves’ total point output. A third Don Bosco player, Earvin Jose, scored in double-digits to help the Mandaluyong outfit offset FAITH’s balanced scoring parade. The seesaw affair proved to be a good test of character for the Bravehearts, who opened the season with a 77-75 squeaker over league debutants University of Batangas Brahmans last Monday, September 6.

Corpuz and Casibang, along with Jerome Canseco, Jose Luis Garcia and Uriel Lim have been part of the Grey Wolves’ lineup since 2008 and have participated in tournaments such as the 2008 and 2009 Nike Summer League and the zonal rounds of the 2008 and 2009 Philippine Collegiate Champions League.

In other games last Thursday, San Beda College-Alabang leaned on the offensive outburst of James Panaligan to dump last year’s host school San Pablo Colleges, 97-56. Panaligan registered a game-high 22 points and was backstopped by Travis Jonson, Ivan Gallardo and Reynaldo Estanislao, all of whom tallied double-digits in the scoring column. De La Salle-Lipa, meanwhile, edged Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba, 74-73 in another nail-biter. Christopher Abila paced the victorious Chevrons with 19 markers, while Mark Miguel had 15.

Games will continue throughout the weekend. This Saturday, September 11, the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas Patriots take on the De La Salle-Lipa Chevrons at 9:30 a.m. At 12:30 on the same day, the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Laguna Saints make their debut against the reigning, back-to-back champion Grey Wolves. Capping off the three-game seniors schedule will be the 3:30 matchup between the Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas Dolphins, the 2009 runners-up, and the Letran Calamba Knights.

The next day, De La Salle-Lipa and the San Pablo Colleges Hermits do battle at 9:30 a.m., followed by the tussle between Don Bosco and University of Batangas at 12:30. Perpetual Help Laguna and PCU-Dasmariñas close out the playdate at 3:30 p.m.

The top four teams will advance from the single round-robin elimination and make up the semifinal cast. The two higher-ranked teams will hold twice-to-beat advantages over their lower-ranked opponents. The final will be a knockout game and is tentatively scheduled on October 21.

All six seniors games will be staged at the FAITH Gym.
