I got a call from a contracted HR (John Clements?) during the first week of August inviting me to apply for a position at PMFTC's Marketing Department. The first interview was with their HR and since it went fine they scheduled me for another interview a week after, this time with the immediate superior and the line manager.
Yes, upon getting off the elevator you'll already smell the 'fragrance' of cigarette smoke at the lobby. However, when I went inside, wala namang amoy usok -- they ahve designated areas for smoking and it's true that 60% of their employees are non smokers (this has started to sound like a spiel of the HR people while conducting interviews) hence you won't get discriminated against nor will your application be tainted if you're a non-smoker. I was even offered one pack of Marlboro while waiting.
Culturewise, based on my impression, employees here are having fun with what they're doing and are happy with the working environment (one of my critical criteria in selecting a potential employer). Their office is nice (The Enterprise Tower is one of my ideal office locations. LOL). Madami ding expats which for me is a good thing since multinational talaga ang setup.

ive been with philip morris for less than a year and so far, im very satisfied with my compensation. sobrang galante nila in terms of compensation package, facility and employee service. i have met people who have been working here for several years and they were very pleased as well. as for the industry, for me its always a choice to smoke or not. i am not a smoker and it is not encouraged to smoke. it doesnt affect your application at all but be wary that there are meetings where it is allowed to smoke in the room so if you are too concerned about your health, then this is not the company for you. but overall, this is a very good place to work.
