    UK Visa

I've seen thread topics on US, Schengen, Australian, Japan Visas... but no specific one for UK visas...

For those who had experiences applying one through VFS, please do share how was it? We are planning to apply for one soon and any insights or inputs will be appreciated...

    thanks in advance...

it's easier to apply if you already have schengen and/or us visa. they have the fasttrack system wherein you can have your visa in 2-3 days. tho it still depends in which uk embassy you're applying.

madali lang mag apply ng uk visa. usually no need for an interview. basta ok lahat ng requirements as evaluated by the affiliated agency.

if youre touring schengen countries, mas ok kung kukuha ka muna ng schengen visa para most likely you'll get your uk visa approved as well.

^ thanks p@c for that tip... sa pinas kasi you submit the requirements sa VFS not sa UK embassy... my fast track system din kaya don?

we're planning on going to london, paris, italy and kung makakaya pa leipzig (kasi may friend sya dun)

^ puede yata fast track provided that the applicant...

Has travelled to (except transit) in the last 5 years, and has evidence:
    • UK, Ireland, Schengen Country, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand and has complied with their conditions of entry; or
    • Holds a valid visa issued in the last 3 months for one of these listed countries; and
    • Their last application for any of these countries was not refused nor were they removed from a country on their last trip.

Share ko lang experience ko applying for a UK VISA

visited my aunt last September 2009 kami nung sister ko.

Nag walk in kaming dalawa mga 6:30 am nakapila na kami sa baba ng Phil Axa Building ba yun then mga ilang minutes pinapanik na kami. kapag walk in dapat between 7:00-8:00 lang ang complete lahat ng docs mo. Anyway, Pinay ang nagrereceive ng docs. unfortunately hindi kami nakapag paphotocopy ng documents namin kaya ayun ang masungit na Pinay binalik lahat ng docs at nagpahotocopy pa kami. anyway, pagbalik namin tapos na ang oras ng walk in applicants at tinatawag na yung may mga appointments. buti na lang may isang counter na tinawag kami at dun kami nag submit. nalaman namin an pwede naman pala kahit walang photocopy pero hindi na nila ibabalik original docs :-). masyado hightech ang visa application nila nung gabi after nung application nakatanggap agad ko ng text informing me na nareceive na application, then the next day another text naman na pinadala na sa UK embassy then after 6 days nag text ulit na processed visa application is ready for pick up at VFS.

Fortunately approved naman Visa namin hehehe.

Hi! Thanks for the infos...I just like to confirm something ---- Does the 6 days include the weekend? or 6 working days? Do you have US/Shengen visa prior to the UK visa or no prior visas?

Also, does the 1st or 2nd text message say "Visa Application has been dispatched to the British Embassy on (date) for processing"? So, is it safe to assume na pwedeng 6 days from this text message, I would receive naren a message saying that visa application is ready for pick-up?

Does anybody here have an idea which is faster? Pick-up or by courier? I paid kse for the courier... Thanks.

If I remember it correctly 6 days including the weekend. I have other Visa's pero Asian Countries lang while my sister does not have any previous travels for the past 10 years although we were approved of a UK visa 10 years ago. Sinama namin yug old passports para makita nila pero ang tinitignan lang naman nila eh yung travels mo for the past 5 years.

Kami we just picked it up so I dunno which is faster.

Ano po kayang yung evidence na kailangan nila sa "has travelled to US in the last 5 years"? Ok na ba yung lumang passport ko containing yung US Visa ko na nagexpired na last July 2005? June-July 2005 kasi yung biyahe ko sa US. Pwede kaya ako sa fast track? Balak ko kasi mag-apply ng UK visa this coming April. Thanks.

Last June I was planning to apply for UK VISA. Then on my way, one of my friend texted me to meet her then I canceled my application.

I already have all my papers stamped by the UK HOME OFFICE because they are all original from UK.

a couple of years back, i had a bad experience with the call center (what ever they call it nowadays) that handled the collection of your pertinent documents and the releasing of your passport and visa.

the details are vague to me now but generally, the problem was borne out of the call center claiming that my documents were incomplete, even if they were complete.

the consequence? kaunti lang naman. they returned all my submitted documents. then i had to call them again and, despite relaying their error, they instructed me to place another call for pick-up which in turn, entailed for me to pay a second time (and that's x4 since we are 4 in the family).

i talked to their supervisor to no avail. when that didn't work, i gave her a piece of my mind before doing the inevitable- go through the process again and pay a second time.

my lesson learned? it's that these people are there to earn money. period. i'm not sure now if it is the uk's visa service or the us', but there used to be one where you payed for your call according to how long you stayed on the line. so if that system belongs to the uk and is still in place, call with all the facts at hand to keep your minutes at a bare minimum.
