Multitalented actress Jennylyn Mercado and prized leading man Sid Lucero team up once again in the afternoon drama titled "Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa" which is about a girl who at a very young age learned and experienced all the hardships in life. This will be the second team-up project of Sid after their movie "Rosario."

"Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa" is a family drama all set to make audiences laugh, cry and fall in love beginning July 9. Angelu de Leon, Saab Magalona, Frank Magalona, Crystal Reyes, Carl Guevarra and Liza Lorena complete the stellar cast of this original soap filled to the brim with drama, mystery and romance.

This series is under the direction of Gil Tejada, Jr.

Sid Lucero A ‘Shoulder To Cry On’ For Heart Evangelista

MANILA, Philippines - Sid Lucero is adamant that he and Heart Evangelista are just "good friends."

Contrary to rumors about them warming up to each other, the former explained that they haven't gone beyond the boundaries of friendship just yet.

"We're really good friends, yeah," Lucero said in a taped interview with "Unang Hirit" aired Thursday.

He maintained that to some extent, they have found comfort around each other knowing that they have gone through similar ordeals lately. Recall that the two Kapuso talents both just came off from a relationship; Evangelista with her Brapanese model Daniel Matsunaga, and Lucero with his non-showbiz beau.

"That's what made us close to each other eh. 'Yun nga 'shoulder to cry on' and all that," he explained.

Although Lucero confessed in an earlier report to being in awe of Evangelista's acting prowess and her beauty, that doesn't equate to him wanting to have a relationship with the 27-year-old actress.

"I just came off from a relationship, I'm not ready for anything," said the award-winning actor in the "UH" report.

Recall that Evangelista in a recent Bulletin Entertainment report already denied any brewing romance with her "Legacy" leading man. She likewise refuted rumors saying that Lucero was the third wheel that caused her breakup with Matsunaga.

"It's not like that. Hindi talaga siya gano'n," said Evangelista.

She admitted, though, that they "hang out on friendly dates" every now and then.

"Sid and I are very close. We're really close friends. We do hangout, yes, that's true but it has nothing to do with my relationship with Daniel. 'Pag nagmahal ako... grabe ako magmahal. I gave a hundred percent. I exert all effort talaga into the relationship so it has nothing to do with that," she clarified.

Sid on Heart: It’s part of the job

Sid Lucero shrugged off rumors linking him to former “Legacy” co-star Heart Evangelista.

“Every show naman may link, di ba? Kasama na yan sa trabaho,”he said in an interview during the 35th Gawad Urian awards night at the AFP Theater in Quezon City on Wednesday, June 13.

Asked to clarify if there is indeed nothing going on between the two of them, Sid replied: “Like I said, every show there’s linking. It’s part of the job. So there’s no reaction.”

What was his reaction when he heard about the rumors? “Natuwa, actually. Ibig sabihin, effective yung partnership namin. E yun naman ang isa sa pinakamahirap gawin e, to build that chemistry like that.”

Sid also said, “It’s supposed to work with every partner, e. And naaaliw lang ako na it looked real to them.

Shoulder to cry on

Still, Sid admitted he and Heart are good friends and still communicate even after their GMA-7 show ended its run.

“We’re really good friends. We’re supporting each other, especially after what we both went through,” he said, pertaining to Heart’s break-up with Daniel Matsunaga and his split-up with his girlfriend of one-and-a half years. “In fact, that’s what made us closer to each other, e. Quote and quote, shoulder to cry on and all that.”
They haven’t even gone out without their “Legacy” cast mates, Sid explained.

“Isang malaking barkada siya, e. Gawa kayong ‘Friends’ (the American sitcom) na Pinoy, tapos kami lahat (sa cast),” Sid quipped

Possibilities

Can he see himself having a deeper relationship with Heart?

“I just came from a relationship. Wala sa isip ko yun, e. I just came from a relationship,” Sid said.

His solution?

“I’ll surround myself with as many friends as possible, Sid said, adding, “You know what, kung possibilities ang pinag-uusapan, of course it’s always a possibility for anything with anyone.”

‘Vitamins’ and ‘food’

After “Legacy,” Sid will star in an upcoming GMA-7 afternoon soap with Jennynlyn Mercado. But Sid said his heart will always be in independent movies, adding he wants to do at least one movie a year.
“Kasi, television is totally a different art. And when it comes to indies, yun talaga ang passion. My heart is always in the movies,” he explained.

Sid added, “Parang vitamins ka ng vitamins pero hindi ka talagang kumakain. Kailangan kong kumain. So, indie.”

Does Sid have any roles he’d want to do for his next movie?

“I never think what role (to do) next. Wala naman akong dream. Gusto ko lahat, e. Wala akong dream role. I just wanna do everything and anything that comes my way,” he said. “Hindi naman ako mapili. Trabaho na ni Ricky (Gallardo, his manager), yun.”
