Depende sa shape and height if it's necessary pa talagang lagyan ng design. It's really not the rule to have one pero the simplest option would be using cove lights.

Mas maraming cornices and moulding choices sa home depot. Try Delta woods. You don't have to use cornices if modern ang habol mo. You can use a W frame instead.

Cornice pa rin yun sa photo. Geometric lang yung shape nya may kanto. Yung W frame ang gagamiting instead of the L type wall angle sa wall corner connecting the ceiling. So W wall angle instead of L wall angle.

Lalabas na wala kang cornice but meron mga 1" na notch sa corner ng ceiling and wall. Parang floating ceiling. Clean termination ito without using a cornice.

nakakaloka, inimagine ko talaga habang binabasa ko ang message mo. so baliktad pala tama ba?? bale yung top ng letter W ang naka kabit sa wall/ceiling, yung ibaba ng letter W ang nakaharap sa akin kung nakatingin ako?

Kung may existing ceiling na pwede mong lagyan ng false beam around the wall perimeter. Pero dapat from the start na specify na yan as part of the design.

naisip ko na din yan dati. faux beams. problem kasi dun sa precast panels sa amin, hindi pantay ang surfaces. bad trip nga eh. magastos kapag pinabatak ko. iniwan ko kasi ang ceilings sa renovs ko. sa next phase na kapag may budget.

Kaya mas magandang gumamit ng W wall angle for that purpose. Hindi halata kasi susunod sa wall yung gap. Pag may cornice kasi litaw yung liko liko ng wall.

Yun lang gagamitin mo to drop the ceiling sa gilid for a faux beam effect by the minimum.

kasi di ba mas maganda kung parang floating talaga, meaning kung mas malayo ang new ceiling sa original celing sa gilid.

kung 1 inch ang kapal ng C-channel, 1 inch din ang pagitan ng dalawang ceiling, at 1 inch din ang ang kapal ng W wall angle? actually yung C-channel na nakita kong nilagay sa celing sa second floor ko parang half inch lang yata ang kapal.

yep. may gap. kaya para syang floating, pero hindi sya magiging dust catcher. mas gusto ko itong W wall angle for suspended ceiling.
