Yeah, it's okay. I don't see anything wrong with using a netbook in class. It's not mayabang in my opinion.
I use a netbook for typing notes (Using MS Office One Note) especially when it's a PowerPoint-based lecture and the prof doesn't give a softcopy of the slides. It's much faster than writing down notes plus it's easier to organize. PLUS, it's way easier to bring than 5 notebooks.![]()
it will stil depend on your professor's classroom policies. some professors allow students to use laptops/netbooks/PDAs for taking notes but some professors do not allow ANY electronic device when class is on-going.
Can you draw those network diagrams fast enough? What about writing down those equations? Mas mabilis pa rin isulat.
it's not mayabang naman. i used to bring my uber pink dell laptop pa nga when i was in undergrad.sa law, given nang meron ka at least netbook man lang. lol.
I think having a cameraphone (3MP up) is handy.
It'll be really useful to bring one, given that your professor allows you to use it.
tanong:
meron bang paraan para maka transfer sa UP Dil kung galing kang ibang UP campus? Pero di mo na-meet yung grade requirements(if meron).
^how is this related to the topic?
ontopic: basta magtanong sa prof kung puwede gumamit during class.
and I detest taking pictures of things written on the board/ppt presentations projected in class. seriously? sobrang katamaran na ata yan.
Depends. Makiramdam ka na lang sa paligid mo. But Ive never been in a situation na kelangan ko mag lappy sa loob ng klase. Hirap mag type ng notes. What if may equations/illustrations pa. Tapos what if super tahimik ng klase baka makadistract yung sound pag nagtatype ka. Lastly, I think parang cellphone din yan -- kung nakakainsulto sa prof na nagtetext ka sa loob ng klase, he might also feel insulted kung tingin nya ay nagffacebook ka using your laptop.
Ask your prof. Makiramdam sa paligid, etc. Kung may reason man that u musnt use ur netbook, hindi dahil mayabang. I think (almost) everybody has one anyway.
Basta payag ang titser, OK. Marami nang may netbook/laptop/tablet sa UP (Diliman), from the newest to prehistoric na bugbog.
It depends on the teacher.
I personally don't like using laptop for notes taking kasi ang daming potential distractors na pwedeng i-open (e.g. Minesweepers, Facebook kung may WiFi, etc) lalo na kapag nabobore sa klase.
More importantly, masyadong mahirap mag-type ng solutions to engineering problems (which involves drawing free body diagrams or infinitesimal volumes and typing complicated mathematical equations).
I remember when I made a nine-item problem set (lifted from past examinations) as one of my reviewers for my ES examination. Bale front page yung problems, then the next nine pages yung solutions.
Ahhh memories.![]()
Ako I use laptop and netbook in taking notes, syempre hindi magkasabay haha. Pero really, it depends on the prof. So, pakiramdaman lang talaga and mas ok na rin if you ask the prof. Pero sa totoo lang, kaya ako naglalaptop or netbook for taking notes ay dahil sa may paper na ginagawa, lalo na nung last sem na talagang kahit nasa ibang subject ako, all I can think of is my thesis kaya dapat laging may laptop para itype agad ang fresh new insight lol
Experience ko nung college (same department ako with the threadstarter), okay lang mag-netbook during class kasi available din yung lecture slides in PDF form. Kapag discussion class I think mas kelangan magsulat, since problem-solving classes yun. For the laboratory classes, lalo na yung kelangan ng laptop, very beneficial kapag naka-netbook ka para you can take your homework/ tasks around.![]()
Depende pa rin sa 'yo. Diskarte mo 'yan eh.
Mas gusto ko yung old-fashioned pen and paper.
