Sir Scud thank you for answering my questions. This thread is helping a lot of people including myself. May God bless us always. Maraming salamat po ulit...

Hello! Here's sharing our experience about your queries ( though naka-address kay Scud ang question)

    1. Yes your IELTS result is still valid. Reckoning date will be the date of submission, so if you submit it this month, it is still effective till April of this year.

    2. In that case, get your TOR from your university and have them seal it. You can do the mailing yourself. Together with the other documents required.

Hope these help answer your questions...

    (1) about kasi sa IELTS, nakalagay: must not be more than a year at the time of submission. Mine is going to be 1 year na this April 2010 and Im going to submit my full app before the end of February. Counted pa yun as "not more than a year" right?

    (2) about sa TOR na nakalagay in a "university sealed envelope"; does it mean that the University will be the one to send it directly to the Embassy or kasama po ito ng full application package ko na isesend ko sa embassy?

Thanks a lot po and I hope that you can help me with this.

Hi Mr. Scud and to all Pexers,

Just like to say thank you for all your inputs kahit sobrang delayed na itong message...ngayon lang ako ulit nakapag-login since December last year. I came back sa Pinas after staying in YVR for two weeks last December. My PR card is already with my friend sa Delta. Problem na lang paano padala sa akin dito...hehe keep on helping our fellow Pinoys...God Bless!

Saang visa office ka magpapass? Yung Transcript - original and sealed (unopened) by university. Yung Diploma and Professional Certificate - I'm not sure sa Manila embassy. Please see below an excerpt of a part of the instruction guide for FSW:

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:
‘‘I certify that this is a true copy of the original document’’
the name of the original document
the date of the certification his or her name
his or her official position or title
    his or her signature

    Outside Canada-
    a judge • a magistrate • a notary public • an officer of a court of justice • a commissioner authorized to
administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

So to summarize, sa tingin ko not necessarily DFA unless there's an explicit instruction from the visa office. Just my own interpretation... baka merong may direct experience...

According to instruction:

Photocopy of citizenship certificate, permanent resident card or permanent
resident visa (formerly called “immigrant visa”) for any family members who are
Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada

If your close relative is a permanent resident of Canada: photocopy of his or
her Record of Landing (IMM 1000), Confirmation of Permanent Residence or
    Permanent Resident Card.
If your close relative is a Canadian citizen: proof of Canadian citizenship, such
as a photocopy of pages of a Canadian passport or Canadian citizenship card.

QUESTION PO..straight to the point na tanong na to ha...

    1. Granted that everything's all good already, hahanapin ba ng immigration officer sa airport yung entire/complete settlement fund upon landing in Canada? since cash should not be brought, would they look for the entire amount in check or bank draft?

Please help clarify this concern.....thanks in advance!

Ask ko lang, kung saan mas madali mag apply? through Online or with the aid of a consultant agency?what are the pros and cons between these two? Pls. enlighten me... Advice naman diyan. Thanks!!
Applications for immigrant visa are not submitted online. You have to print the applications from the website and fill them out (or you can fill them out online if you want but you have to print them) before submitting them to Canadian embassy with all the supporting documents either personally or through a consultant agent. Submitting applications in either means do not have any implications on processing times. Whether you apply by yourself or through a consultant agent, the embassy will treat and process all applications received equally. So its just a matter of personal choice if you want to get an agent to represent you. All information on applying for immigrant visa to Canada can be found on their website at www.cic.gc.ca . Good luck!

you dont need these documents to be authenticated by DFA, but they are preferred to be notarized by a notary public. Follow the instructions in your applications. The instructions say what you should do and thats what it's there for.

    Hi All, SCUD and pappylips,

I have sent the complete docs at Manila Embassy and received their email acknowledging that they have received the pack on Jan 11. Halos lahat po ng docs original even bank statements except for some which were printed online but supported by bank letter on banks letter head. Upon reading the comment on TOR in a university sealed envelope below I am bothered if I need to do the following:

    1. I have sent together with the pack the original TOR of my husband's and my own TOR in University envelopes and closed it with scatch tape. I failed to have them sealed by the Universities. We still have the extra original copies of the transcripts. Do I need to resend?

    2. I have included a letter that I was not successful in getting an updated COE from one of my previous employer but I had the old one furnished to me so I sent it anyway and also attached the resignation letter acknowledged by the company. I have also printed the SS contribution and employment history printed online to support my employment with them. After sending the pack, the company later on replied that the updated COE was ready. We have not also gotten a COE for my husband since he worked for just 6 month in that previou semployer but just supported his employment with them with SS records also. Do I need to send this also?

    3. The email from the embassy stated that they will send another email after 45 days, do I need to wait for that? Should I resend those mentioned above even the 45 days are not yet over? Please help po bigla ako namroblema.

Thanks a lot po sa makakapag advise. God bless us all and good luck.

sa Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (IMM 0008), ano yung VISA OFFICE REQUESTED FOR THE PROCESS OF YOUR APPLICATION? anong appropriate na sagot dun.

    thanks sa lahat.
The visa office is the office responsible for the processing of visa applications in the region or country of the applicant's nationality, country of their residence, or where they have been living legally and permanently. If you are a Filipino and living in the Philippines, you must put Manila as the visa office in your application. You can find this information at Canada immigration website at www.cic.gc.ca.

Naku, pasensya na po...wala kasi akong relatives sa Canada so I have nothing to offer to you on those questions. Sa amin kasi, naka-note talaga na 'do not send originals' unless stated.

Hmm... I got my TOR from the university mismo....meaning, I requested another copy of TOR (like 3 mos ago) and they issued and sealed it (envelope has the university logo and has ink stamps all over the envelope flap to make sure that it gets submitted sealed). Usually pag nagrequest ka sa university, alam na nila ang gagawin and they will even ask you kung saang institution isa-submit (minsan kasi pwede nila idirect sa organization requesting for it). But then for canada purpose, pwedeng pick-up-in mo na lang and send it along with your other requirements.

Sa case mo, I suggest magrequest ka na sa university mo nito..dun sa question kung isesend mo ito sa canada as follow-up information, I'm not really sure what would be the best approach. I'm also curious to know what should be done in situations like this.

    Hi Ryce_31

    1. TOR sealed by School/University. You will be fine with this. The main reason why the embassy does this is due to the prevalence of "fake" school documents obtained somewhere there in Recto. Since you have sent this docs already, the embassy will only ask for additional information if they suspect your papers. We did the same by sending the original copies to them..

    2. Latest COE. Just wait for their notice if they still require additional latest information since you have stated already your reasons in previous letters. The embassy will request for additional information if they need them. Changes in status which requires utmost reporting would be, coming of additional member in the family (birth, adoption etc.), death in the family, getting married . For the COE updates, you will be fine.

Also, prepare for the journey here in Canada... Getting the visas is just the beginning ..... Prepare also for the cold weather!!

    Hope this helps...

    straight to the point answers

    1. The Immigration officer in Canada ( where you will be first landing) will just ask how much money(or its equivalent) you are bringing in as first time immigrant. They will not look at it or count it, that's against Canadian law. Cash is absolutely accepted as contrary to your belief. You just have to declare it. Risky, yes .

I suggest you bring as much cash resources in Canada upon landing to ride away the difficulties while settling in your new country.

    Goodluck!

    3) Which is acceptable in filling up forms: All Capital letters or combined Small and capital letters?

Thank you for taking time reading my questions. I need your help and guidance. Paki tulungan naman po....
    1. You can attach separate sheets of paper if the space is not enough for your answers. Just remember to indicate the corresponding form and question numbers you are answering.

    2. Yes that is okay and acceptable.

    3. It doesnt matter whether you use uppercase or lowercase letters, as long as they are legible, unless otherwise stated in the form. If the form says BLOCK letters, its better if you use uppercase letters.

    Hi Avaya and pappylips,

Thank you so much for your swift replies. The original TOR itself had dry seal on it and I did not think that the "University sealed envelope" means putting seal on the actual envelop. I am from UST for those who can relate. All other documents from UST like orig diploma, certification of graduation, medium of teaching, syllabus had either UST dry seal or stamp seals so i hope it would be ok. I had sent also my original PRC grades and certificate and photocopy of my PRC license. Sana ok lang talaga yun. Will wait na nga lang din kasi nakalagay sa email nila, inform lang sila for the necessary updates.

Thanks again for the help. Pappylips, where are you located in Canada? We are planning to live in Vancouver.

The immigration officer will ask you how much you are bringing in to Canada but he will NOT ask you to show it (whether in check or bank draft).
