Professor Pilapil said that BSAT was not approved by the Board of Reagents joined by the controversial P200/unit increase. BSA for SY 2010-11 would be 5 years , no summer.

PUP-COA will offer for first time implementation the BS Accounting Technology program this coming school year 10-11. A matter of discussion among students, both accounting and not. This program is not only a COA-initiated matter but it is supported by a CHED study and properly studied and endorsed by the Educational Technical Council headed by Dean Ledesma. It was discussed during the Educator's forum and well-presented to the accounting teachers as a 4-year ladderized course leading to the BSA program. One has to graduate the BSAT program and eventually, if the student is really serious taking the CPA board he has to take a one year BSA course (two diploma kaagad). As for PUP implementation of BSAT, VPAA wants to run the 2 programs simultaneously. And it will be an additional program/course within the College of Accountancy. So paano nga? Initially, the 30 sections allotted for COA freshmen will be split into 5 sections for BSAT and 25 sections for BSA (allocation may vary). The usual retention policies (dos policy, SQE) will run in the BSA. the difference is from being a 4-year course it will now be a 5 year course (now, the 5-year program ay hindi pup initiated kung di CHED. The additional year it will be implemented to all board courses). So through the retention policies sa BSA, it is but natural, na hindi lahat magtutuloy sa BSA. May mga students na magshi-shift. natural na yan sa coa. so these shiftees have the choice to continue accounting in the BSAT program or kung ayaw naman nila they can shift to other course. Both BSAT and BSA will have the same curriculum/subjects from first year first sem up to fourth year first sem, same departmental exams, same grading system.

May one shift from BSAT to BSA? yes. provided he/she met the grade requirements of BSA program.

i hope i answered some of your questions.

Hey, may i know what are the schools where I can pursue my BSACT. I'm a BSACT student and I want to finish it first. as what you have said I'm able to take the CPA board if i will take a exam for bsa. what is it?

Try to inquire sa PSBA. From what i know kahit 4 year non-accountancy courses nagaadmit sila. psba offer 2 year BSA course. Go to their website nalang.
