I LIKE your taste, krayola!
My undergrad thesis was on Indigo Girls. I chose to do their work because I think they're the best thing out of Atlanta, they're lyrics are way cool, and... and... ah, I just lose all composure when I think about them!
I love all their tracks, but the stand-out ones include Power of Two, Least Complicated, Ghost, Closer to Fine, You and Me of the 10,000 Wars, Language or the Kiss, Philosophy of Loss, Airplane... the list goes on and on!
U2 - by far, Pride (in the Name of Love). Odd, but I liked Discotheque.
Sting - Someone To Watch Over Me. I have a single of that!
Power of Two, With or Without You and Fields of Gold respectively (although if I would have to consider Sting's gig with Police, his best is definitely 'Wrapped Around Your Finger')
Indigo Girls: Fugitive, Galileo, Ghost, Joking, Least Complicated, Power of Two...almost all of their songs from the albums Rights of Passage and Swamp Ophelia. I believe that they have an album called 4.5 which contains most of their famous songs and a double-disk album: 1200 curfews yata ang title which is also a knock-out. Pero yung latest nila yung Shaming of the Sun e medyo na-shame sila ng konti, but all in all I still like them.
U2: Sigur para mas madali e yung Best of U2...puro mga hits ang nandoon like With or Without You, Pride, Bad, New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, The Sweetest Thing, etc., etc.
Sting: Almost all na nasa album ng Fields of Gold like When we Dance, Fields of Gold, Fragile, Englishman in New York, Why Should I Cry, etc., etc.
BTW, good choice of music...I have this feeling that we both enjoy the same kind of music. Do you like EBTG and Bob Marley?

Haven't got the chance to listen to Indigo Girls. Power of Two is their only song that i know, courtesy of having an OST of Boys on the Side okay naman yung Power of Two.
U2 - i like their songs: Pride and Sunday Bloody Sunday (ang sarap isigaw nung lyrics, shouting/singing, pag chorus na), i also like With or Without You, All I Want is you and One
Sting - not much of a fan, but when he was still with The Police, i like their songs Every little thing (am confused with the title: every little thing ba o every little thing she does?), King of Pain, et. al
wickwater: i dig reggae music, the rhythm i don't have a Bob Marley album, but i have listened to a couple of his songs and i like them
my fave sting song: when we dance...nangingilabot ako....
indigo girls: power of 2...kinda sobrang gasgas na pero i don't get tired of it...
Mister Dean, PePs, wickwater: I'll have to agree with u, sis! Great minds really think aloud!! este, alike, as if! Welcome to the PEx Mutual Admiration Society Music Jam Chapter.
StJames: Good choice! Who doesn't like these songs? So what are your second most fave songs by these artists?
Mister Dean:What was your thesis all about? I like their music so much but I don't know much about them though. I like their style so much especially when they jam with other artists like Mike Stipes (? of REM, in Galileo) Their
PePs: I forgot to greet u last time. This may have come a little late, but still: HapPy BiRthDay!
wickwater: Well, what can I say?! It seems u really like them. You've practically listed majority of their best songs. And yes, I do like EBTG (I really like their acoustic version of Time After Time) and Bob Marley. Btw, 4.5 is not a double-disk album. I learned it from my beau's friend who has a group and performs at Larry's Bar. Unfortunately they're out of the country.
Anyways, does anyone know where I can get a copy of 4.5?
Mutual admiration, ha? LOL
4.5 used to available at all National Bookstore outlets. What I recommend is you check with them, at kung wala, to just ask them for old stock with the manufacturer.
wickwater, I totally love EBTG, even before the Missing phase. (Do you have "Temperamental"? It's not the standard EBTG, but it's stomping!)
My thesis was an analysis of their lyrics using a feminist theory, with emphasis on the Girls' support of vital issues, like same-sex relationships, environmental protection and youth advocacy groups.
PePs, I didn't know! Happy birthday!!!
POWER OF TWO!!!!
Mister Dean: Thanks for the info on 4.5 ...and if ever u have that CD...are u willing to lend it to me so I could copy it? I just got have a copy of that.
Nope, I don't have a copy of Temperamental ...do u? Any other albums of EBTG?
PePs: Belated Happy Birthday din...baka naman pwede mo pa akong i-blow-out.
So, u like EBTG din pala...likewise I only have their Homemovies album.
Meiji: Same here. I like reggae a lot because of its soothing rhythm...its like partying on the beach at sunset.
wolverine: I totally agree with u...Nothing beats "THE" U2.
krayola: I didn't say that 4.5 is a double CD...what I said was that 1200 curfews is the double CD.
What albums of EBTG do u have? Can u lend them to me...the same thing with Bob Marley.
There are only two things these artists have in common: 1st - they were in their best form during the 80's and 2nd: they're THE BIG DIFFERENCE.
indigo girls: i like galileo and the power of two.
u2: the best band ever...
my favorite songs: one, all i want is you and i still have'ntn found what i'm looking for.
*i heeard that they'll be releasing an album this year.*
sting: another one of my favorite artists.
favorite songs: if i ever lose my faith, everything she does is magic and don't stand so close.
i'm also into reggae music.
krayola: I'm not really a big fan (heck, the only Indigo Girls song I know of is 'Power of Two') but some of the U2 songs I love are 'The Sweetest Thing', 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', 'Angel of Harlem' and 'Desire'. As with Sting, I never really liked his solo work but I absolutely adored his band 'The Police' and their classics such as 'Every Breath You Take', 'King of Pain', 'Every Little Thing She Does is Magic', 'Roxanne', well all of their songs actually
wolverine: I'll agree u! I actually have most of their albums; Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Best of '80s(I'm not sure w/ the title) but the one that I really like is the Rattle and Hum album. My most fave songs are One(the ultimate!), I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (R & H version), Bad, Stay and Been Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World(live). Will that album contain new songs or is it just a compilation of their bests again? Spill, pls.
Mister Dean: Thanx for the info. Btw, when did u find out that they have 4.5 album? Atleast I would know if it's near extinction already.
I got this question in mind right now. What do u these 3 artists have in common? Do u have any thoughts on this?
Just like Mister Dean, I like your taste, krayola!
Indigo Girls - Power of Two, Least Complicated, and Galileo
U2 - I still haven't found what I'm looking for, All I Want Is You
Sting - Someone to Watch over Me, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You
wickwater: I like EBTG! There are rumors that they're coming to the Philippines soon. Can someone confirm this? Better yet wickwater, start na lang your own EBTG topic so we can talk about the group there.
indigo girls: galileo, ghost, power of two, mystery, least complicated and love will come to you
u2: one, pride, i still haven't..., heartland
sting: king of pain(police), fields of gold, shape of my heart
By the way, i have a copy of 1200 curfews...talk about being worth every cent! the best live renditions of their best songs, galing talaga! and yes double disk yon.

Power of Two! kahit gasgas na nga.. sobrang tattooed on my mind sha...
chaka With or Without You....
crayola: i forgot where i heard about this... it's either from 99.5rt or nu107.
they said that bono lost his laptop that contained compositions for the next u2 album. good thing, the man who got hold of the laptop was a u2 fan. he was too willing and happy to return the computer to bono (who didn't have any backup files).
so... yes. we'll be hearing new original songs from u2 in their next album. according to the news article read on the radio, the new u2 songs will be similar to the early works of the band.
as for the release date of the album... yan ang wala pa kong info.
u2..the lillywhite & eno produced albums..
i will follow, gloria, like a song,
two hearts, bad, sort of homecoming,
in god's country, and running to stand still.
..gave up on u2 with the release of achtung.
..except for the song.. one.
police..most of outlandos, regatta & zenyatta
...next to you, so lonely, roxanne, message
in a bottle, when the world comes tumblin'
down, canary in a coalmine.
from ghost in a machine..every little thing
she does is magic..
felt police sold out with sycncronicity..
kinda dug the jazz sting..tour supporting
blue turtles featuring wynton marsalis,
darryl jones & omar hakim was by far one of
the best shows i've ever seen...
but ever since then, felt like gordon's
loosing his sting.
Nice pun work there, Rockgardener! LOL
Gordon's losing his sting... haha!
well, wickwater, as PePs already knows, I am more than willing to spread the gospel of music (hoy, PePs, Shanice ko! ). Instead of lending you 4.5 to tape, why don't I just make you a collection of the best tracks, studio and live? (Charge you for the cost of the tape, but the recording will be free.) What do you say?
