Ganda naman ni nins last sunday sa asap... Lalo na yung sa birthday celebration ni piolo yung nakagreen siya... Very elegant and sosyal ang dating niya... Ninafied na ninafied yung both production numbers niya... She really has her own style na nina talaga ang dating...

Honga ate tina, ganda niya and fresh na fresh siya there... Sana nga pwede ipost dito actually gusto ko nga ipaalam kay nins para mapost dito...hehe... Kasama niya pa si king and chin doon sa photo diba? History of MYMP... Ang ganda rin ng article...

Vocalists who have professional confidence don’t have to name-drop their former bands, make use of trademarks legally applied for/reserved to/historically owned by another person, or even use ambiguously the prepositions, “of” or “from,” or the adverb, “formerly,” to inform the public of their past “connections.” Confident pop singers advertise their performances as solo-artists, by simply using their proper or stage names.

Locally, Rico Blanco boldly embarked on a solo career without having to mention that he came from, he was formerly with, or carelessly announcing that he is “...Rico Blanco of River Maya;” The same with Bamboo; Top Suzara didn’t resort to name-dropping when he went solo after a falling out with Free Style; Both Brix Ferraris and Luke Mejares didn’t commit the unethical mistake after South Border; Pido had delicadesa after his stints with Side A, after 2nd wind, then finally leaving the band Take One.

One must admire the self- assured Nina for neither name-dropping Essenes nor MYMP. In fact, most people didn’t know until recently that she was once the vocalist of both bands; and, likewise, Richard Poon who had the gentleman’s audacity not to sell tickets by reminding his new market that he came from U-Turn. ... Internationally, Sting never name dropped The Police. The same with Beyonce, after Destiny’s Child. And Fergie, after Black Eyed Peas. Neither did Nicole, after parting with the ***** Cat Dolls. Those feeling nostalgic for the Motown sound must remember the self-reliant Diana Ross after leaving The Supremes.

Of course, either they were that confident in using only their proper/stage names, or they were aware of the legal consequences if they did otherwise. Needless to say, Chin possesses the legal claim (based on the Bureau of Trademarks, IPO regulations) to his MYMP band name, and its mere mention on any money-making activity without his expressed permission has huge legal and financial consequences. But beyond legality, confidence, and ethics, any vocalist must exert conscientious effort not to offend the sensibilities of the sophisticated and rational pop audience. Get the drift?

And then along comes Juris with her concert tarpaulins in Misamis Occidental (Tangub City-Dec. 9, Osamis City-Dec.10, and particularly in Oroquieta City –Dec. 11) that showed her holding a herbal product announcing, “Juris of MYMP Concert.” The concert tickets bare the same “come-on.” How about the Dec.12, San Juan Arena concert with Aiza Seguerra? Internet ads and concert tickets had the MYMP trademark clearly printed on them, and the giant tarpaulins showed pictures of Chin and Juris together in one frame.

I have this personal belief that Ricky Lo must be feeling uncomfortable now because he was so sure of himself when he announced (in his Oct. 31 column) that, “No, Juris won’t be using her M.Y.M.P. ‘connection’ anymore.” So what is there to be surprised about? After all, words of the all-knowing are sometimes great foes of reality.

i actually like the word self-assured being linked to nina. it aptly describes her as an artist. no big bangs. simply nina.

ang ganda at super galing pala ng performance ni nina sa asap last sunday. didn't know she was there. sobrang galing niya. my personal favorite was ikaw lamang. ang taas ng tono! galing sa birit parts!

Happy Saturday.. Sikat talaga mga songs ni Nina sa ROTS album nya kase PiniPlay yung He's Out of My Life sa PBB, Lovers in Paris, at sa GMA na Darna considering na Kapamilya sya and Kapuso gumamit ng songs nya *** maging background sa sad scene ng darna.
and yung Cold Summer Nights always piniplay sa PBB.. Congrats NIna.. galing talaga ng renditions mo sa mga songs na yun!

true enough songs from the ROTS album are really well-thought of. despite its humble packaging it shows a lot of nina's different side as an artist.
