Gabby Concepcion is all praises for Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson

]Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo boasts of a powerhouse cast that includes Gabby Concepcion and the hot love team of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Gabby on the set of the new teleserye where he shared how happy he is to be working with Kim again after the movie I Love You Goodbye. “Kalog na bata ‘yan, sa hitsura lang seryoso. Kapag mga tulad niya ang kasama mo sa set feeling mo parang hindi ka nagtatrabaho. Magaling siyang umarte. She takes her job seriously. Makikita mong malayo ang mararating niya bilang drama princess na kilala siya ngayon.”

For this teleserye though, Gabby will have most of his scenes with Kim’s ka-love team Gerald who plays his young brother-in-law. Gabby commended Gerald’s dedication to his craft. “Nakikita ko kay Gerald na gustong gusto niya ‘yung role. Importante kasi ‘yung para ma-portray mo nang mahusay ‘yung role mo. Tailored talaga para sa kanya ‘yung role. Maganda na gagawa siya ng action dito sa TV because wala nang masyadong action movie ngayon.”

Following his much talked about performance as a soldier in Tayong Dalawa, Gerald is now being dubbed as the “action drama prince.” In Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo Gerald will play a young agent, a role which made Gabby see Gerald’s potential to become an certified action star. “Definitely pwedeng siyang maging action star. Marami namang pwede, ang tanong na lang is sino ‘yung mamahalin ng tao at makaka-maintain ng ganun. Definitely pwede si Gerald dun. Mga tulad niya ang pwedeng maging next generation Rudy (Fernandez), FPJ (Fernando Poe Jr.), sad na pareho na silang wala. Sina Philip (Salvador) at Bong (Revilla Jr.) hindi na kasi ganun ka-active.”

Gabby added that young stars like Kim and Gerald are lucky to have the advanced media that we have now. “Ngayon kasi ang nakikita ko nasa TV talaga ang malaking potensyal ng isang artista. Lalo na ngayong may TFC at internet. Napaka-swerte ng mga artistang tulad ni Gerald at Kim na very visible sa TV.”

The ‘80s matinee idol and award-winning actor will also have a taste of action in Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo as he plays a law enforcer named Steve. Gabby, who had the chance to do action films back in the ‘90s, talked about his preparations for his role. “Noon pa sumusubok na ako ng baril sa mga shooting ranges kaya medyo familiar na ako sa paghawak ng gun. Ang totoo noong nasa US ako naisip kong pumasok sa [police] force. Pero kapag ginawa ko kasi ‘yun magsisimula uli ako. Mabuti sana kung bata-bata pa ako. Sa Amerika tanyag na trabaho ang pagpu-pulis. It’s an honor to serve your country. Ngayon tuloy pa rin ang training ko kasi I have to be physically fit sa mga action scenes dito sa teleserye, mga takbuhan and all. I do racket sports, badminton and tennis.”

Gerald is really a smart guy. He is able to put a positive spin to whatever negative answers Kim gives. He does not allow viewers to feel negative about Kim's feelings or answers. He protects her in every way he can. He is remarkable and he just gives and gives. I really hope Kim knows how valuable Gerald is to her and realizes it before it is too late, just like what Kris told Kim in The Buzz.

Agree! sobrang protective ni gerald kay kim pagdating sa pagsagot ng mga question. Sinisguro niya na di magiging negative si kim sa tao at isa pa maganada talaga pagnagbibiruan lang sila ni kim sa mga live interview nila. Sana talaga bukas tough ten ang gawin nila sa the buzz.
